Personally, I really couldn't care less about the make or the opinions of those who claim to know everything about mobiles. However, I do like the look of these budget iPhones, it's all I need considering I have the iPod 5, and I love it. Therefore I wouldn't need an iPhone 5 other than to play the games I like whilst I'm out and about, this making the fully priced one a waste of money in my opinion. But if it were cheaper to buy the said iPhone, I would definitely have it, I saw that it would cost $200 (ish) in the comments, which is around £150 in queens pounds, therefore making it a lot easier to afford and becomes a lot more attractive considering that's how much I aim to spend. I was looking at a HTC desire hd but then I saw this and now I'm quite interested to see what comes of it. None the less, thanks for reading and such... Good luck with it and I look forward to hearing more about it

I don't think people place value on functionality and features because the iPhone so far has given us 0 features other than a few tweaks here and there but it's the same as 2007 basically. It's 2013 and we are just now getting quick toggles. And it's a promise of quick toggles because we still don't have ios 7.
I think people place value on the brand. It's Apple so we buy it because it is apple.
I've had this iPhone 4S without "features" for almost 3 years now.
A friend of mine bought a Galaxy Note 2 with all the features AND a pen. He had to replace 2 motherboards in 2 months. The 3rd motherboard he replaced and immediately sold it.

The Galaxy Grand has more "features" and a bigger screen than the iPhone 5, but the iPhone 5 performs better, has a superior camera and it is an overall superior phone.
So if you're talking like for like, a galaxy S4 is just about as much as an iPhone.
And what good is all the functionality if you're not going to use it? Also, a Samsung phone will loose its value faster than an iPhone. Apple stuff keeps its value.
So it depends. You can invest your money on an expensive device that will keep its value or another expensive device that will be worthless when you try to sell it.
Samsung releases phones so quickly the Galaxy S4 is due for a price cut soon. Aren't they already releasing an updated version of the GS4 with a better processor?

1. Features and functionality are different between OS. They offer different features and functionality suited for their target audience. Else they would have being out of business long time ago.
2. People place values each feature and functionality differently. And ultimately different choices.
If you can't even see past those 2 above points, you most likely could not answer people when they ask you: "why you buy this phone?", and get pulled to every feature gimmicks out there.

Not sure about this budget iphone but surely .. pretty impressed with the 'basic bear' phone. Great specs and built quality and that too at 199 bucks ... would surely like to have one ... a must check out in my view

Have you ever actually SEEN iOS 7? It is a COPY straight COPY of what everyone else has.
Weather - an exact copy of Yahoo Weather, albeit less capable than the Yahoo weather app.
Mail - an exact copy of the Google Mail app
new features (control center) - exact copy of jailbreak apps
Icons - OK. The new icons aren't a copy of anyone, because no company would be so awful to green light those icons. They are vomitus. My 5th graders can make a better camera app icon.
Only thing left to fix is their awful Maps app, and they're buying other companies so that they can stand on the work of others to fix their mess.

If it does. then it will be official Chinese crap. It's all crap right now. All of it is crap. There's no innovation coming out of any manufacturer. If you think I'm going to sit there waving at my hone like an idiot, think again.
Gimmicks aren't innovations. The App Store. THAT was an innovation. Everything else now is an imitation of everything Apple created.

Specs aren't everything.
You run a game with an Octa Core or Quad Core GS4 and it's dropping frames left and right while running smooth as silk on the iPhone. This is why some still prefer the iPhone. It's about the overall experience.

Tell ... moreActually if you look through the history of their products, Apple is at an all time low for actual, honest innovative tech and ideas. Every year they bring out the same thing at a new ridiculous price with a slightly upgraded spec sheet, and the drones rush to the shops to buy it because there's an apple on the back, withoutdoing any research whatsoever on what they're buying.
