T-Mobile US slashes all upfront phone prices to $0, iPhone 5, too

26 July, 2013
The catch, of course, is that you still need to pay for the phone, you just do it in monthly installments.

AnonD-169419, 26 Jul 2013What is the ETF in this case ??There is no ETF with T-Mo. You either pay the installments (ex: $20/month for 24 months) or just pay the $480 upfront for the phone. If you leave the carrier, you just need to pay off whatever monthly payments left.

We don't have that kind of deal here in the Philippines. I bought both my HTC One and Nokia Lumia 920 unlocked and in cash.

So, you're basically leasing the phone?

It's better for people who don't have cash for the new phone so you pay in the much smaller monthly payments. Only problem - phones are overpriced :-\.

Excellent offer. S4, Xperia Z, HTC One and BBQ10 all priced the same.
Note II costs more than S4.

no wonder why all americans are broke.
what kind of stupid plan is this? why would you do that instead of buying the phone outright? so your 70$ plan ends up being a 100-110$ plan AND you're pretty well on contract.

There's no service contract, only an O.A.C. to pay off the phone. Not too bad in my opinion. Those rates are cheap!

People who cant afford a mobile phone by cash upfront should really be protected by the Law makers. So strange to me this is. People buying stuff they need. Buy a nokia asha 501 instead upfront and realizethat you dont need more than that. Probably 2 of 3 should be content of the no-money-wanna-be-seen anyway and saving money. Choose a cheaper operator instead...
