Further, Linus got his ideas for Linux while at University of Helsinki using ULTRIX on the school's DEC system and began development of Linux in 1991 after purchasing a 386 PC and acquiring a copy of Minix (which stands for Mini-Unix). So I'm not sure where you got the idea that it was based upon AT&T's Unix when there is no references attributing him using AT&T Unix prior to developing Linux.
If you visit the University of Helsinki C.S. website even there they call Linux a Unix clone:

..and again, Linux being acknowledged as being part of the Unix family genealogy:

So if this is not the development of one operating system (Linux) being based upon the ideas and concepts of another (Unix) I don't know what is.
Also, at no point did I say that Android is fully functioning GNU-Linux, so don't read more into my comment or attribute something to me that was not said. Had you read the comment I was responding to, you could see that I was referring to the grossly inaccurate statement that Android, top to bottom, is written in Java. It's not.
One final point. If you're going to correct someone, at the very least you should not get caught up in semantics or offer your own opinion as fact.

I'll still buy a Japanese (Sony), Korean (LG, Samsung) USA (Motorola) or even Taiwanese (HTC) made phone over a Chinese phone.
I see plenty of Chinese phones while in Asia. The only time I've ever seen phones in retail shops in "debug" mode with an OS error have been Chinese and Indian made phones.

Unless Apple sells the 4C for less than $300, people buying the iphone on price alone will still buy the 3GS.

Nor is Android a fully functional GNU-Linux operating system à la Ubuntu, Debian, Fedora, Red Hat, and other popular desktop Linux distros. Rather, it takes the Linux kernel only (not the GNU userland), and uses the kernel to run a Java virtual machine.
iOS and Mac OS X, curiously, are far more Unix-like than Android. They are certified by the Open Group as POSIX compliant, employ a BSD userland in their low-level code, and trace their roots NeXTSTEP, a significant Unix-like OS developed by NeXT in the late eighties. Both could, potentially, run from a command-line terminal — a far cry from the terminal emulators one can download for Android.

You know what? Apple only realized today that there are lots of plastic phone buyers compared to tin-can phones buyers. Luckily there are different phone manufacturers, otherwise we will be stuck with only the iphone.

Apple iphones are away behind now in tec,if you look around. the top Motorola,samsung,HTC,Nokia phones. All these companys make much better phones than the iphone.yet in apple tv adverts they make you beleave your buyin the best phone in the world.Thats sad! and there expensive phones!

Apple is only going to dominate US and UK, as the phones are provided at subsidised rate with contract.Unlike in other countries consumers need to pay a huge price to get the phone...Apple need to come out with good specs phone and need to cut down the price...

Chinese phones are unbelievable quality performance and price. Only fools buy Iphone in soo expensive price because better than Iphone are available in less than half price. Only problem is Chinese phones are difficult to find out of China.

The tin-can case doesn't make the production price any higher.
The production price of GS4 or even the old GS3 is much higher that the aluminum iphone 5. Check it out.
So, why Apple must make this stupid move? They spend so much money, marketing and menial media to convince the morons that tin-can is better. Why plastic now????
