Johnny Ives bit off more of the Apple ios than he could chew and ios 7 will be junk because they've thrown a bunch of developers from their OSX team into ios.

You just can't get a quality OS out the door when developers are new to the OS platform (save the argument that OSX and ios have similarities, it's the differences that the developers need to learn).
How many more betas? 3...4...5? This is a huge black eye for Apple. Many in the tech community are laughing at Ives right now.

Not yet stable, just "more stable" and it's now the 7th beta.
The ios 7 code base must be a mess.

AnonD-8044, 06 Aug 2013Actually this is not funny anymore.Apple have to pull somet... moreI dont know what you are trying to say, iPhone 5S isnt for iPhone 5 owners, its for iPhone 3gs and iPhone 4 and maybe iPhone 4S owners.
Most iPhone users change their phones in two year cycle, not one year. There's no point to buy every model, but buying new model after two years you get much better device.
Also i dont think iOS7 needs anything big new things, its going to do very good with what it offers now, people are loving new iOS7 and its also going to get lot of new customers who hasnt liked the IOS look before.

I have tried the beta version a fair bit on a friends phone and it definitely doesn't have the usual apple feel of class.
Icons are all over the shop.
There is no consistent feel between applications.
The colours look average.
The whole flat design mixed with opaque windows just doesn't work.

Actually this is not funny anymore.Apple have to pull something out the bag this time..I know so many ifans who are getting fed up now of same thing..Do you think folk are going to upgrade yet again to the same old thing..This next iphone is to last till Sept/Oct 2014 so imagine what will happen in that time frame in Smartphone years.
Apples ip5 sales are mainly upgraders from the ip4 and Apple fanatics mainly but so many hardcore Apple fans I talk to for years on podcasts and techblogs are swaying to Android..Even Leo Laporte Miriam Joire and other tech enthusiasts have just lost enthuisiasm in iphones..I know when ip5 popped up on keynote speech I was shocked at it being the same damn thing.Then mine went back due to chips in it etc.
They cannot just change icons they need to bring something out big to get that gasp you get or WOW when something new blows you away..IOS is smooth and stress free so is W8 but that lacking in apps that work..BB has lost the plot and these NEW O/S seem to be non existant ie Jolla,Firefox,Tizen..Designs have totally stagnated so maybe this is it game over the smartfone is just a boring screen.

IOS7 just keeps getting better and better, nice new tweaks. Apple again doing very finished looking OS. They think every small details. The UI looks very cool, have to say best looking OS out there, i liked wp OS design, but apple made even better looking OS, cant wait the fall to get new iPhone and iOS7.

Unfortunately it is messed up... When i unlocking phone no unlock sound jus some very quiet buzz.. only locking sound is ok.. beta 6 soon ;-)
