By eliminating the trackpad, the hard call/hangup buttons and the side, multifunction button, BB has almost dumbed the device down to iPhone level.
had they left those in, with maybe adding a fingerprint reader to the trackpad and redesigning the front buttons, they could have had a real iPhone/Droid competitor.

Well companies like BlackBerry and HTC are trying to workout like Samsung by making new smartphones every day to somehow increase their market and get into the BIG race.
BlackBerry might be the best smartphone for communication in my opinion. I have used all platforms and companies' phones except HTC and BlackBerry is just the best for communication. Communication in the sense "Instant Messaging", "Emailing", etc. The only main issue in BB Devices/BB OS for most tech-people is "Applications/Softwares". Its a developing OS guys, it started with WhatsApp and now I have heard from a lot of people that there is voIP functionality now in BB devices which is great. They are adding popular apps first like WhatsApp, Viber, Skype, etc and then going to add other extra apps.
HTC have started wonderfully by crafting out arguably 2013's best smartphone in HTC ONE. It completely beats out the so-called "Monster" S4. Now they have done a good job by releasing the entry-level quad-core smartphone in the Desire 500. I'll just wish them best of luck coz they have started taking matters seriously.
Nokia is just an okay company. Window 7/8 smartphones are fast but they dont offer something new other than new softwares. They should also try an Android Powered phone for some succes.
Sony has done a particularly good job with Xperia Z. They are doing something new in their own way and we should appreciate it but there are still minus points in their phones like no option for expandable memory which is silly.
Apple are just nothing except beauty and looks. Grace was finished after the sorrow loss of Sir Steve Robs and the launch of iPhone 5. Simplicity is alright but what's the use of simplicity if you can't even download for any other launcher. iOS 7 is just like a fancy cartoon like OS copied by Android.
Samsung have just given the path to other brands and they are right now King of Smartphone Brands. They alone have phones from the range of 10-70+k Pakistani Rupees. I personally think Samsung have alone lifted Android to another level.
I'm looking forward in buying BlackBerry Z10 or HTC One. But will see the reviews of new BB OS.

@hanesh prakadi...thank you for telling it as it is. Its so annoying when people judge a product when they're amateurs or non users. BB platform has few but meaningful apps rather than Apple and Android filled with loadza *you know what*

the new BB10 is a great one, but the disadvantage remains the application store an poor performance of some applications. Skype is working awfully in my Q10

those who've never owned a BB should just spare us the hogwash,how do you criticise something you have never used before...based on what? If you are a galaxy fan,thats ok..we dont disrepect your choice in life so please keep your opinions to yourselves because the same way you feel about BB is the same way BB fans feel about your galaxy thingamajiggy or iphone (no disrepecting the memory of the great Steve Jobs,the last innovator)

Blackberry handsets, especially the ones running on BB10 are the best handsets one can get their hands on.
Anyone who talks negatively about these handsets have never tried one or is not smart enough to see how awesome these phones are and is too afraid to admit stupidity cause they cant get used to something new, different, solid and a real telecommunication device.
Ive tried iOS, Android, Windows 8, Meego and BB10 handsets. Nothing even comes close to the experience you get on a BB10 device. The more I use my Z10 and Q10 the more I love them. Been using BB10 since day one of release and every time I use it, its like I just purchased the phone new. Truly the best phone ever.
Android is a failure of an OS thats why all companies do is produce handsets with better hardware in attempts to make it run without lagging lol and they fail misreably.
iOS is worse than Android and iphones are just about looks and stupid people who cant wake up and see how far behind iOS really is. And every time they come up wirh a supposedly "new" phone its the same crap with just one added feature lol.
Windows is just a piece of crap, sure it runs fluid but apart from that it is rubbish.
If you truly try the new BB phones Blackberry handsets, especially the ones running on BB10 are the best handsets one can get their hands on.
