I used to have Samsung Galaxy Y, my first Android phone which i just bought for checking out the user experience. It lagged when opening dialer, contact, gallery, camera, email applications and opening three or four applications for multi-tasking would slow the system and had a worse battery backup and these things are still there in each and every Samsung phone which has TouchWiz UI and Android OS. I bought a Samsung Galaxy S3 after that and it had same issues. Then tried a LG Optimus L9, it had the same issues but the lag wasn't more prominent on it than Samsung phones i used. Bought an HTC One X+, it doesn't lag much but has very poor battery backup. Android OS is damn resource hungry. It's true cheap Android phones lag a lot due to which the user experience is ruined. iOS, on the other hand, doesn't lag, excluding the first to fourth iPhone. It's smooth but has many restrictions. As your name suggests that you're a Samsung fanboy, you wouldn't understand what i said simply because you can't digest the bitter truth. Trust me or not, TouchWiz UI is buggy due to which all Samsung Galaxy phones lag, be it S4 or Note II.

You can get a good Chinese Android phone in $150 with MediaTek dual core processor which gets beaten by a single core Qualcomm processors and those so called MediaTek quad core processors which has a performance of a dual core A9 processor. qHD display but still colors look washed out on it? Poor built quality? It can hardly last 4-6 months? That's the story with cheap Chinese Android phones that comes for 150$. Yeah it can run smooth for some time but there will be frequent crashes and this not working and that not working after a while.

I don't want to remember that old symbian days .I always have problems with that crap operating system. Continously have software problems. Old nokia basic phone price is really ridiculous. Android is best ever mobile operating system no doubt about it. Complete freedom and highly customisable , , that's why I like android .Thanks for Samsung and sony for giving power full mobiles (smartphone).Nokia still cheating with another crap windows operating system.

xavi3r, 14 Aug 2013i think this type of tech news are just another marketing g... moreWell i know how statistic works and maybe it's been altered...but who cares really...majority of people doesn't care about statistic and only buy cause we like it...maybe Symbian is good, but in the old days..today if Symbian still lives, it will still lagging behind android and ios...reality check, android and ios is easier to use than Symbian...if for normal people, it is simpler...

Hardware limitations aside, these are the same system, and that's one of the reasons that make Android so compelling. Choices for many, and yet the same foundation.

i think this type of tech news are just another marketing gimmick for the masses where any individual who is reading this stuff might think his phone/gadget is obsolete for various reasons and so purchasing a new phone would seem a good idea.. for those interested just do a google search on this ebook "How to lie with statistics by Darrell Huff" and another search on wikipedia and read the article about Planned obsolescence ... by the way i still believe symbian is the best :P peace all

I don't use PC much now, neither does any other adults in the household, a big powerful smartphone like Xperia Z and S4 can do so much, comfortably. Even some slower low res phones like Note 2 and Galaxy Mega are better than PC in many ways. Tablets however i dont find useful, have an ok 10 incher in the house, no-one is using it, we should have a Huawei Mate 6.1 instead, nice "stay at home" device.
Big powerful android phone with chrome browser and some good apps, that's what home users need the most.

Even though Smartphones are outselling feature phones. Some of us still prefer feature phones.
However, no one is bridging the gap. You either have a choice of fully touchscreen Android or a feature phone. But there is no Android phone which is a hybrid touchscreen with dialpad / keyboard like the old Symbian based Sony Ericson P990i.
Look at the choices:
Xperia (mini) pro - no longer made (annoying turn phone for keyboard)
Motorola pro+ - MB632 - no longer made. Good phone, keyboard could be better - can't run BBC iPlayer
Samsung Y Pro - good keyboards - screen too small - useless - can't run BBC iPlayer.
They sell better hybrid in the USA, not a single hybrid is available in the UK.

feature phones are always good at battery when compared to smartphones which is a must for a phone .what is the reason of using a smartphone when you cannot call a person due to low battery which is a primary use of a phone.

About as exclusive as a cheap grey t-shirt with a Nike tick on it.

WP phones does not have clear upgrade path and it is unlikely that low or even mid range Lumia;s will get future upgrades , at least in Android phone all companies provide some updates minor or major , i have used omnia w in past , WP is poor mans ios seriously lacking in Apps and features . Android is wild jungle depends how intelligent user is to survive
