even if meizu do bring such an update , samsung might not coz they might launch it as a new device to their lineup so more profit. its all corporate sale tactics.

jon dow, 11 Sep 2013thats a lie..i dont believe it.Why is it a lie? It makes perfect sense that it's likely.

Clearly all the cores share the same data/memory bus at the same time, otherwise the phone couldn't switch between A7 & A15 cores as needed. So if both groups of cores are equally accessible and processes interchangeable between them according to usage demand, then this switching would be managed by the firmware or a hardware 'controller' in the SOC which is probably managed by the firmware.

So new firmware should be able to allow all cores to work at once.

Having said that the power drain would be huge, not to mention that no apps or android version is currently optimised to work on 8 cores so real life benefits at the moment wouldn't be great.

Bit like the new 64 bit A7 chip in iPhone 5s. Absolute kudos to Apple for bringing the first 64bit SOC in a phone to market, however it'll be pretty pointless for a while as all 64bit mainly achieves is to allow processors to utilise more than 4Gb of RAM - and at the moment not many phones or tablets have 2Gb of RAM & only one has 3Gb... and we won't see 4Gb for probably nearly 2 years. And as iPhone still only has 1Gb RAM its even more pointless there.
