How about the bigger the tile the more information?

Small tile = total of notifications

medium tile or big tile = categories (e-mail, social networks, apps/os, SMS/MMS, Calls)

They got to get it from the app/os services anyway so it's already categorized.

And FYI, Android does NOT need to pin anything on the home screen in order to know that there are new notifications.

So now for WP8.1, if you don't pin this notification tile, is as good as not receiving any notifications at all.

At first glance, you'd want to be able to see only how many notifications you have pending. Detailing notifications on the front side of the tile will become very messy, very quickly.

If you don't want the feature then it's nothing more than OS bloat. If it's like the story says it is, then I wouldn't want it.

MS should make it a standalone app in it's app store. Plus it will increase the number of MS app store apps by 10%! :p

Without any specific information? At least show the counts by category like e-mail, SMS and missed call for cripes sake. How hard can it be?

Great! WP8 is another step ahead of android.

Android despite being sooo "advance" and customisable, still do not show individual notifications unless customise launcher/apps hahaha.
