It's sickenin when kids come here to talk about cores. At first they said bb needed to increase screen size and now they need to include 1000cores. Have u used it and found it slow, laggy or incompetent? This is not a phone for kids - get a samdung toy and play angry birds all your life. This is a phone for real users not cores counters.

Midrange specsheet that will come with high-end price tag. Equals only to last year's flagships. No wonder Blackberry is dying. And they're still trying to pull the same stunt all over again. That's just sad.
And for all you BB lovers who don't even know what the 8cores are for, should at least try to find out or just shut up.

I made the move from a HTC One to a Z10 (can't wait to get a Z30)
It is seamless, fast, slick & efficient... it doesn't need a Quad core processor...
Yes, I would like a bigger screen... but I'll get a Z30 when they're out.
As for Apps... 10.2 can support Android 4.2.2 apps...
Not that I need any...

f 8-core smartphones. what do you need that for? BB smartphones may not be the best out there but the crap Samsung brings to the market ain't nothing to keep mentioning whenever y'all say about "the best out there"

haha blackberry.....very slow, especially if the use of social apps regularly, sucks.....moreover data n file transfered not efficient actually.....hang always hang always......bad phone

If fact a good os should not need all that power. Android is full of bloatware and malware hence the need for power just to stop the lagging. It is a naive suggestion to say that one needs all that power - for what reason - just to make a smooth os? It that all there is with an os.

Hey people! BlackBerry 10 Smartphone/OS don't need to have an Octa Core shit processors because BB10 is very fast and powerful even in Dual Core processors only.
BB10 OS is the best and very secure OS in the world as of now!
-From Apple iPhone 5 soon to be iPhone 5Same/5Cheap Toy user and also a LaggyDroid user. :)

If the os is optimized to run efficiently on dual core, why the hell would i want a bigger cpu, and shortened daily usage. Blackberry did a great job with this phone. Of course camera could be a little higher, but all around should be a solid device.

From my experience, the best after sales service company was goes to samsung, acer, and motorola.
Before i get a new phone, i will make a survey that the phone have the applications that i need to use like multitasking, email, office application and basic phone application. And some other small application.
Using an android os phone, not satisfied due to stability issue, sometimes hang-up, sometimes lagging. Seem like to thrown it away. Too sad. Maybe this android phone i will gave to wife or my kid. Dont want to mention the brand but it was worldwide brand. :-)
Still using 5 yr old symbian os phone nokia e5 as a backup till now. Work great. Only the screen cracked.

The post sales services/repairing centers it's also a matter of luck/badluck most of the time. I am happy (so far) with my Z10 and surpassed my expectation (hardware and software). Regardless of the brand what is good for me might be crap for others. Same with cars. What I dislike and don't understand what is the goal (if any) is people that come here just to bash and say BB is a crap. Maybe I'm the old fashion type, maybe BB is not fashion anymore, but this doesn't mean that the product is no good. I can imagine the big event that would be if the new Iphone 5S and 5C has been release with the BB10 OS and what would be the reviews of all the so called tech geeks around the world and apple followers. The only thing we can point to BB is that they didn't marketing/advertise properly the new product (and I'm not applying for BB PR or Head of Marketing as I don't pretend to be just another wannabe)
