If the N1 delivers similar results in a real test, then Z1 is KO. 1020 yes it will be a good fight provided these shots are real.

My N8 can clip highlights on a sunny day too, but when I saw how the Galaxy S4 clips them I stopped worrying and took better care of what and how I'm shooting. And if it happens, it happens, as long as I caught the moment I wanted. Better than no photo at all. :-)

What are you talking about? DR looks just like any other 13MP smartphone camera. Those dark areas just look to be very dark to begin with. And white areas are often clipped even if there's no direct sunlight. That's the way it is with those small pixels.
808 Pureview clips highlights, Lumia 1020 clips highlights, I think it's ok if this one also clips highlights(without HDR mode)...
