I remember a funny meeting with top officials of Home Depot saying how they will implement new strategies to be more like apple. The idea was to offer no discount and charge normal high prices for a so called good product. Result...the idea was tanked silently within a month as it did not work in practice. Apple can do it but BB should consider being logical. If a Q10 is the same price as an S4 or an ip5 who is going to buy it

xsflagstaff, 23 Sep 2013The Blackberry brand is toxic and the only way forward is t... moreI disagree with that entirely. Blackberry is still a watch word for security and reliability. There is still a certain status with having one and there is a style that no other brand has. The brand is fine. Its the products, they cost too much, and walking a tightrope between business users and teenagers (in the UK at least) with noone in the middle is obviously too big an ask.

The Blackberry brand is toxic and the only way forward is to aggressively compete on price and thus eat into margins over the short run. A retrenchment to the enterprise sector will make no diff, with big corps promoting BYOD and delaying implementing BB10 due to fears the platform will fold in the short term. A full re-branding is what is in order here.

Everything remains the same, the new owner is likely to make some changes, change the logo or stuff like that, but they will probably inhect some cash into the company, they will want to create new products, etc.

Once Blackberry controlled almost 40% in North American market and Nokia had about 60% world wide market. People will laugh at you if you said both will die a few yrs ago. Who next ?? Apple or Samsung ?? Micromax will be new KING ... Hahahaha.

I've got some questions for you'all, will the new firm retain the name 'blackberry'?and continue with the official bb10 os?
If the company finally change hands, what will happen to our bis data plan? Does everything still continues as it was before or do we expect the name to change from blackberry to something else?...please someone that knows should reply...Thanks!

i would say this has been setup... this is the reason why bb didn't perform... someone wants to make it private... and watch... all in a sudden after the sale, bb is hip again... is going to make money again... i love their products (even i don't use one), but hate this management...

The UK guardian newspaper is reporting a write off of $1bil phone stock due to poor sales. Please just lower the price. I'd get a q10 tomorrow if it wasn't just so darn expensive!

I'm surprised that Google isn't trying to buy BB and use their servers for some instant messaging service for Android.
