04 October, 2013
The company even offered to waive off the licensing fee in return for having a place on HTC's current phones.

      Lol
      Poor Microsoft...
An OS, which is not FREE, is being given for free, with another OS, which is an OPEN SOURCE.....
How low hath the mighty fallen :) :) :) :)
I have few ideas for a washed up OS, like the Windows Phone 8
      a) Give it for FREE to everyone
      b) Beg manufacturers to install it on their devices
      c) Pay manufacturers to create devices running WP8
      OR the easiest one
      SCRAP this CRAP

I was an avid windows mobile user and loved it. Sure it was laggy and at times unstable with too much multitasking, but i will not use another windows device now they went to WP7/8 as they migrated from all the business users to appease children. Makes no sense why they did this and it shows in their total sales...

AnonD-193734, 06 Oct 2013wp.. haha u dont need to let us try ur wp.. all u need to d... moreguess what:

          1) no 2 WP screens are exactly the same
          2) all "essential" apps from Android are in WP
          3) its obvious you've never used a WP device in your life, yet you make outdated comments that were applicable back 2011

Why you don't make an app that can run Android app on Windows phone, lack of popular app is really frustating

ha, this piggyback ride is so shameful-coming from big corporates. If this is the case in the big picture - then what should regular people do - come on show some morality, grow a spine.

i have heard this story during a heavy storm a camel was given shelter in its owners tent. I think there is a possibility for that if WP-OS is given a chance as such.

Windows phone is a failure because it offers almost nothing. Just add a file manager and remove restrictions from your OS and then i will buy the Nokia Lumia 1020 or maybe a HTC One with dual boot.

Hi,friends. Please look at it this way too!?As long as MS intention is just mere help to the HTC and it doesn,t cost anything for the both parties and the buyers, there is nothing wrong with it!Also it creates more jobs and this unity help in advancement of science too!So if it does happen,I congratulate both parties with this sincire suggestion just a sign of a good will! Thanks all.

yeah WP is too restricted and lock-down, it would make no difference whether they make it dual-boot or single, it's still a lock-down OS.
but it's not a beta OS mind you. A beta OS would have lot of bugs and glitch, and user experience will be seriously degraded.

Anyway, for dual boot, I'm concerned will it add cost to the phones ? if I buy android phone, obviously I don't want to pay extra cost for another OS..

I have red all the comments, most of them are coming from people who have insomania or something similar. The idea is great, consumer will have the opertunity to choose which one to use on his phone, and yes it's good for 3rd party develoupers/manufactures. Imagine like on iphone you would get android (no one wants that). It's better to sty closed and with restrictions like ios or wp, because you get more realiable os, not like android you have like (hmm) more thant 4k devices with diferent specs? It's the most used os and most hated/liked os at the time, the same is on pc market with windows. MS is doing great job in mobile device field and now is getting strugled in other fields, but lets see - they are smart people, like other big companys.

It,s a very good idea. They should been done it 1 year ago. We like WP as a OS but, maybe we like also HTC. I hope they will never put Android on MS/NOKIA. And i hope Samsung will quit Windows. Samsung should make vaccum cleaners not TV or Phones.
