the Vanilla android UI is such boring compared to iOS 7... thanks to the OEMs who mostly overhaul the UI to make it more appealing ... especially to Sony.

Man, I've got the same exact device and damn there's a lag on it. (Nexus S - 512mb RAM running on JB4.1.2 ... compared to an iOS device running the latest firmware

Nothing new. Google just changed the UI and calling it an update. No new features and it feels like a closed source OS with too many Google bloatwares, esp. for spying on user data. I looks exactly like Jellybean 4.1/4.2/4.3. Sorry but i no longer want to buy a single Android phone after having some like 7 from different OEMs. I'm concerned about my privacy so i will just move on to a new boat. Maybe Sailfish OS.

You don't need to set up a Go... moreLol at this one. What exactly are you getting at? I think we all know this, and we also know it's a bad practice and assign undesirable way. He is right, you can't install from Google Play without a Google account.
I wonder if Hangouts will work for texting on a phone that doesn't yet have a Google account set up. For sure it will nag you to set it up, then maybe after Googles whining finally stops it will allow you to finally send a text.
Hopefully it will only apply to Nexus devices, OEMs are not evil enough to make so many problems for users, except maybe Samsung but who cares about region locked phones in the first place, they dont count.
