They should've also patented touch screens and batteries and also the air we breathe.

Hey Tim Cook... Can you stand up and be a man. If you and your team out of idea then hired more Genius people work for your better than keep crying with Judge about Samsung copy your patent. If you think apple is better than Samsung then make apple product better than your competitor, also can proof to the consumer that Apple is the best products.

Apple can only pull this kind of crap in US. No right or wrong, in ancient times in China, the opposition War Advisor pulled stuff like this to make their opposition King withdraw the troops on a edge of a victory.

I am not an Apple supporter neither am I a Samsung supporter but Apple should try doing the same thing on Samsung's ground and we will see what will happen.

Stuffs like this is never healthy for consumers, monopoly is never healthy for consumers.

I know I can make Apple lose customers if I have the power to make changes immediately, I am in charge of my country's islandwide payment Kiosk and I can make Apple lose customers just by implementing 1 feature in my Kiosk if I am in a position of power.

My point is people are wowed in the wrong way by Apple that they cannot see there are already stuff offered by their rivals that can make some things in your everyday life that convenient.

Android users will know what I am talking about. I am sure I will be bashed by Apple users, but if you are bashing me, that means your eyes are still closed. So, go ahead, I dont care.

How can Samsung be the copycat here? Heck, they were making mobile phones WAAAYYY before the iPhone was even thought of by whoever that person was.
And NO, Apple was not the first OEM to implement a touch screen on a phone.

I love my Note3 and that's all there is to it. I am not an Apple, HTC, Nokia, Samsung or whatever fanboy and don't support fanboy childish games. Everyone is entiled to get and like the device they want for themselves. Period. The rest is up to those stupid companies who play their own patent war games and has nothing to do with fanboys.

How are other products infringing Apple's? If they were it'll be a tiny useless POS 4" running a blue screen crashing Hasbro child's OS. As a consumer I appreciate choices so if Apple is trying take that away then I'm going to boycott them with my wallet. RIP Apple

Apple's goal is to focus on Samsung devices not in their own devices.. What a nice company isn't it?

Anonymous, 16 Oct 2013Can you be more illogical? ARM processors patents are owned... moreApple owns only about 14% of ArRM Holdings. That doesn't give them much say in not giving other OEMs license for the processors. If you look at the sales figures, not giving license other developers, mainly Qualcomm and Samsung, is losing game for ARM, so rest of the shareholders will strongly disagree if someone said let's not give license to these guys.

Samsung is like 10 time bigger than Apple. Samsung co worth more than Apple, Microsoft and Google combined.

Most people may not even be able to understand the ramifications that precedent has caused, they just ignorantly cheer "victory" in that single battle (ignoring what the future may hold).

Anonymous, 16 Oct 2013Can you be more illogical? ARM processors patents are owned... moreActually they are not "contract manufacturers", they have licensed the architecture which is very different. Apple cannot pull the plug "at will" on licenses that are already given, not without having to hand generous amounts of money in termination fees.

I highly doubt they would even consider not licensing their architecture, the sheer "ripple-effect" of trying to void a license to a single manufacturer would made all other manufacturers jump ship (and would put ARM in deep financial troubles).

On top of that, while ARM is a very nice architecture, Intel (x86) isn't the only thing remaining out there should one not be able to secure a ARM license. In fact, you can just make a MIPS yourself without having to license it from anyone.
