Prices increase and new iPhone in France:
iPhone 4S 8GB: increase of $ 9, now available at $ 559
5C iPhone 16GB: $ 13 increase, currently available at $ 833
5C iPhone 32GB: $ 16 increase, currently available at $ 972
5S iPhone 16GB: $ 13 increase, currently available at $ 969
5S iPhone 32GB: $ 16 increase, currently available at $ 1,109
64GB iPhone 5S: increase of $ 24, currently available at $ 1,254
Apparently this increase is due to the implementation of a tax called, "copyright fee", but the problem is that Apple is currently on trial against the French agency responsible for the collection of this tax, because since the output of the first iPhone, Apple has NEVER paid a penny on the tax ...
Besides, they have already lost the first trial in May 2013, but seem to think they are still above the law in this country.

does it make sense USD has been dropping against euro for months. this means apple is getting more $ for each euro. The price of iphone should go down in Euro.

Increased its pricing according to capacity,,the capacity that cost them pennies..Hope they go downhill and anyone buying 64gb models need help,all your doing is giving Apple just under £192 free ..Yes Apple pay about £8.16 for a 64gb chip but they charge you £200 extra,greedy robbing @#*@#'s .

Apple has told two companies assembling its new lower-cost iPhone 5C that it is cutting orders for the fourth quarter, raising concerns over weaker-than-expected demand.
Apple told Foxconn and Pegatron Corp. earlier this month that shipments of the iPhone 5C in the October-December period would be reduced, Dow Jones Newswires reported, citing unnamed sources familiar with the matter.
5c is Failure. Who's buying 5C too expensive? Reduce the availability to push up the 5s.

I have an iPhone 4 and upgraded it I... moreActually a galaxy s1 running an aosp 4.2 jellybean ROM is FAR faster than gingerbread. So while upgrading phone it can generally get you a faster phone (the software gets better = the phone gets better and faster) if you run android, iphones are getting slower.
What Apple does is called "planned obscolescense" forcing you to buy a new phone...
