Sometime back it looked like that Sony is not laying any emphasis on its smartphone market but now it is launching phone one after one and each phone is much better then its previous version.

Xperia T,V,E,J,L - looks very similar as they all share the same back-curved design, but L has the chrome power button though
Xperia SP - unique as it is the only Xperia with transparent strip with aluminum frame
Xperia Z,Z1, Z1-f - looks similar with flat surface on front and glass back, just that Z1 and Z1-f have the aluminum frame
Xperia ZL - looks similar to Z on the front but more compact and have a slightly curved back with matte finish instead of glass
Galaxy S4 active - looks similar to many other Galaxies on the front but with 3 physical buttons and 4 identical screws on the back (which is very cool IMO)
Galaxy Note # - looks very similar as many other Galaxies but with a hidden S-pen as stylus, except the Note III which have a cool leather back.
Galaxy S4 Zoom - looks very similar as many other Galaxies on the front but having a optical zoom camera at the back
Galaxy S#, Star, Young, Grand, Trend, Core, Win, Prevail, Pocket, Y, Express, Fame, Flame, Axiom, Music, Premier, Stellar and etc. - looks very very similar which share the oval-like design, but just having different size and spec.
There are still having a lot of less-known Galaxies on the market and many of them still looks similar which having the rounded-corner design.

Good news to hard-core gamers. PSXperia or Xperia play 2 is on. The development is fast and looks like to come out earlier than expected.

this is by far the most beeutiful gajet that "sony" has ever manufactured in the last decade to be quite honest......well that's how i feel

Ahh, at least some hopes on Sony releasing the international Z1-f or AKA Z1-mini, but as the time on the leak pic of the phone is "10:35, Tuesday, Jan 14", so it may indicating that the international Z1-f or the Z1-S will be announced or even released on CES 2014

The only reason i skipped z1 is bcoz of it's large bezels.i can hold gs4 without any problem.if z2 also comes with large bezel,i may go for zr or even that crappy samsung...

I hope. Front camera 2.2 mp and the battery can be removed.

> In reply to JadHusin @ 2013-10-21 08:31 from ibXm - click to readStill the screen has bad viewing angle. The image rendering in gallery is also slow sometimes coz of software issues of bravia engine. May be future updates could overcome all these problems. The headphon jack is not closed in Z1 but usb port is still closed with same plastic door which is not reliable for frequent use.
- 2013-10-21 11:26
And every one says that apple and Samsung galaxies lines are unique in design. Now what about sony.... all designs are similar
- 2013-10-21 09:22
Heh, actualy I was going to buy Z1 but after battery tests I chaneged my mind :-( That is really sad that the phone with 3000 mah battery can not compete even with note 2. I expect same from mini Z1. Otherwise Z1 is perfect to me but power consumption is critical
- 2013-10-21 09:03
Hope the headphone jack and usb ports are not covered by flimsy plastic covers.

> In reply to bchsss @ 2013-10-21 04:54 from RDXJ - click to readHi, I already posted my opinion about the competition issue. About the downgrade I had the same opinion but thinking they are simply too high specs for such a size. I change my mind after the Z1f was announced. Only the battery may ruin the fun. Greetings.

> In reply to Anonymous @ 2013-10-20 22:44 from Mici - click to readHi, I agree. Phone makers can confuse people a lot. Even samsung at some point started to call almost all phones galaxy, which is however comparable with the xperia name on Sony, also it is ok. I think sony is doing well by naming their high end phones with the letter Z, so I expect their next high end phone after the Z1 to be called Z2 but Z Ultra, ZR, ZL is too much. Knowing not all people like big phones a mini version is more than acceptable. Of course not like the samsung galaxy S minis which are simply a joke. If the Z1S really becomes the Z1 mini (not only for Japan) many prayers have been heard. I am only afraid there will not be enough space for a proper battery. I do not agree with the opinions saying sony does not want to compete with the Z1 by releasing a mini version. They know exactly such high end specs on such a size are still very difficult to achieve. If the Z1S (Z1 mini) becomes really such an amazing phone, they will make a fortune. Greetings.

In order to keep gap of price and position of the flagship Z1.
I think CPU will be downgraded to Snapdragon 600, and battery may be less than 2,300 mAh.
- 2013-10-21 04:54
Proportions likes button size seems to rule out the possibility of this being a Mini, and then that 4G icon, oh come on, why even speculate when there is proof like that? Because carrier specific phones dont get that much attention as news and rumors about the highly anticipated Z1 Mini of course. Theres no way the author thought this to be the Mini.
