Sony needs market share. They are trying to build up a name in the mobile industry. I don't think their priority is the individual sales of its flagship.Maybe only for marketing sake. So releasing the mini is a good move!

T... moreActually, the bottom bezel allows me to grip the Z1 and take still photo's one-handed. In that respect, it's really useful. It also makes it more comfortable to hold in landscape when watching videos as I don't have two wrap my hands around sharp edges.
There are up-sides to bezels as well as down-sides.
