Samsung did a good job by sticking to the pocketable size form, unlike the others you mentioned.
I suspect these other companies jumped the gun on the 6" screen rumors, and it turned out to be just the 6.3" mid-range Mega.
Samsung has a solid concept what the Note series is - from the sizes of notebooks for sketching and writing. It isn't just a screen size war. It's about making a good modern notebook with the most advanced active digitizer (S Pen), with so many features to cater almost anyone.

Don't care at all, my first ever phablet is going to be between Z Ultra, Lumia 1520, One Max and Acer Liquid S2. No Samsung device even comes into the reckoning, not premium enough for me.

I mean to say is who cares if they sold a millions or even a billion if the user will toss it after they purchase it! Just give the user a god damn best experience and service rather than JUST SHOW OFF what they have achieve!!!

Shame on Samsung for releasing a top of the line phone but no accessories for it. I have had the Note 3 for 3 weeks and still no case/cover for the phone, either official or OEM. I have to use a Note 2 pouch which barely fits.
