If you dont login into Play store, there is absolutely no way Google can know about your identity. If you have logged in into Play store for once also, google will count you as its Android user with android version details. If you have updated your device to new Android version and has not logged into playstore even once, Goggle will still count you as user with older Android version coz google cant know about it unless you log into playstore. I believe that every android user has logged into Play store with his/her google account atleast "once" knowingly or unknowigly.

I'm confused...so the new system only counts the devices that access the Play store? What if I never access the Play store? What if I just install a couple of apps, then just use the phone for calls - is it no longer counted?
