Development of GPUs or (CPU arch for that matter) is done *years* before commercial release -- in the order of 3 to 4 years. It is likely that the Adreno 400 is already completed, as is the next GPU that Qualcomm will release in the future.

It should also be noted that Android's Renderscript/Filterscript is a GPU-compute capable API with a very similar feature-set to OpenCL (though a different API). Both the Adreno 320 and 330 are RS/FS capable, and GPU-compute is only growing in relevance, especially with resource-constrained mobile devices. While I could potentially see if the 400 would eschew the need for OpenCL (in that Android is the primary vendor of Adreno), it wouldn't make much sense if the Adreno 400 would lack this functionality. The rumors are likely wrong.

should i go with a S800/adreno330 phone now or wait?... i guess the first phones with this chipset will not hit the market before mai/june 2014. long time to go...

man, world is realy ready for the phoneblocks idea! f*cking consum and fake hype around things we don't realy need gives me a f*cking mindf*ck. that is why i hate to spend a single cent on "techjunk from yesterday". and buying the newest stuff gives you only piece for like 3 months. marketing sucks!
