Anonymous, 23 Nov 2013It's because most people in the US are like the frog placed... morePeople in every country, including yours, have been conditioned to something. The US isn't the only country to lock phones. Carriers in Europe, Canada, Japan, etc lock their phones as well, but I guess you had to take a swipe at the US for some petty personal reason.

Anonymous, 23 Nov 2013Yep. Anyone find it interesting that with a T-Mobile SIM... moreProbably because that order is fulfilled by Tmobile who may have stock. Also, there may be an agreement with the carriers where Apple has to guarantee a certain amount each week/month, so they give precedent to those devices over the unlocked ones. Apple may say 1-2 weeks but actually ship sooner. There are lots of different factors. Don't see anything too odd there.

AnonD-977, 23 Nov 2013I bought an unlocked 5s on the day they launched, then agai... moreIt's because most people in the US are like the frog placed in a pot of water and the temperature is slowly turned up. They've been conditioned.

Fortunately for the sheeple there, T-Mobile has turned the subscription post-paid model upside-down. T-Mobile did it as an act of desperation to get additional subscribers and surprisingly to other carriers there, it's been wildly successful. That model includes selling the latest and top of the line models unlocked, while that's still not possible with most the phones offered by the other US carriers.

T-Mobile has had the best international calling plan for non post-paid subscribers of all US carriers and have been offering those rates for awhile. So for anyone on international business, get a T-Mobile SIM and use their service so you don't take it up the can on roaming charges or the higher rates with other carriers.

Also, it makes sense that Apple and T-Mobile have teamed up on this as AT&T is fairly saturated with iphone subscribers while T-Mobile was the last US carrier to get the iphone, sooo this give Apple a chance to sell more iphones at their competitors expense.

I bought an unlocked 5s on the day they launched, then again I'm in Australia and couldn't care less about US phone networks.

I can't believe they still lock them there, all my iPhones have been unlocked starting with a 3G.

Anonymous, 23 Nov 2013They're all made in similar factories. Cheap labour. Yep.

Anyone find it interesting that with a T-Mobile SIM the phone ships in 3-5 days, but without one it ships in 1-2 weeks? Seems a bit odd.

Hi EveryOne, In my country Iphone 5s sells at a higher price compare to other market. It simply because of the taxes and duties that the brand paid. You could not compare pricing to one another if the item comes from different origin. However, you can get a non-warranty unit which sells at a lower price (no taxes and duties) or the so called smuggled.

In my country, the resale value of Iphone is better than than Samsung mobile phones... Maybe some of you will not agree.. but this is the fact!

AnonD-31441, 22 Nov 2013you guys call $649 overpriced?? iPhone 5s is sold at $870 ... moreBetter build quality is an illusion. They are made in Chinese factories.

The iphone 5 had at least a half dozen quality issues with the phone (wi-fi connectivity, battery, light leaks, camera, scratched/dented backs on black models).

Best built phones now are HTC, LG and Sony.

Feel free to disagree but the facts don't hold up in Apple's favor.

Apple fan here but still it takes just 8.38$ to double the storage they should double the storage by increasing atleast 30$-40$ I'd say 40$ so that they can enjoy there profit and get there 32GB-64GB sales bump up by a huge percentage so if you ask me the iPhone 5S should cost 599$ 16GB - 639$ 32GB - 679$ 64GB and 729$ for 128GB if this is the pricing for their products they will be no.1
