lol at the people saying QHD is overkill. You all say the same last last year (2012). Remember? 720p vs 1080p?

So this screen has 534ppi. WTF. This is stupid. U cant even see the pixels if the screen is 1080p, which is about 440ppi. A 2560x1440p screen is a stupid idea. It will make the gpu and processor work harder while there is no benefit to the user of the device. There is barely any 1440p videos on youtube. BluRay isnt even above 1080p. Even if the phone has 1440p content to play, you cant notice it.

If it is mostly all screen with minimal bezels and about the size of the LG G2 and running something similar to stock Android(CM)..i will be game. Oh and it better be packing a sizable battery of about 4000+mAh.

It's called the Oppo Find 7 because Oppo goes with uneven numbers, so the 5 came after the 3, and now the 7 after the 5.

These specs + cyanogenmod and for a price tag of $499 and they would have me in a heartbeat. Though I think it will probably be $599.

and then you said I had a pair of defective eyes ?
You're so full of crap, man.

I own a phone with 4.3 inch 720p display and 5 inch 1080p display, until now (and until the end of the world) I still can't spot a single pixel there. And I don't give a shit about those anti-aliasing you spouted because my display(s) are perfect without those jagged lines at all.

First, you make your claims with no reference to viewing distance. Without this information, saying something is "1080p" or "400 ppi" is absolutely useless. 1080p used to look great on our HD TVs when we were sitting 10 feet away, but now we find we can do a little better on our mobile devices that we use from 12-14 inches. Similarly, 468 ppi looks great on something like the HTC One, but one something like an Oculus Rift or other device with a display used very close to the eye, it's frankly unimpressive. Distance is everything.

Two, when someone has below-average vision, that relates to their ability to focus on an object, not the resolution of their eyeballs. This is why glasses are able to fix impaired vision--they refocus light in such a way that a proper image is formed on the retina. If the person's deficiency was an inherent lower resolution of the retina, glasses could do nothing.

So while I agree with you that we haven't reached the point of total absurdity with regard to pixel density on mobile devices, you're actually very incorrect in the points you attempt to make here.

AnonD-218960, 03 Jan 2014I agree with you Sir. Too much ppi is useless. They should ... moreYou should understand that compared to most of us the two of you are half blind, 300 ppi is quite pixelated to the average eye. The analogy of what you want is for people in wheelchair to ban the use of legs, or for the impotent to ban bedroom activities.

Accept your handicap and leave the rest of us alone. You are probably good at something too, does people who are not that good try to impose restrictions and limitations on you? Not? Yet you want to do it to people with good vision, is it a crime to see well??

we have eyes not microscope. so can u really possibly see things in 2k on 5.5" surface and differentiate it from HD devices??

i can tell, 03 Jan 2014i can still notice the difference from a 720p 4.7 inch and ... more720 and 1080 is night and day even for people with somewhat less than average vision. As for going above 1080, well, just start any graphical game that has no antialiasing and watch the jagged lines, they are very obvious even on HTC One which has even higher ppi than most of the 1080 phones.

Its not about being able to spot individual pixels but to create a perfect image, and then we probably need 4k on a 6 inch display. For video and photo viewing its different and 720 is not bad at all on a 5 incher, text with antialiased fonts starts to look quite perfect already at 1080, and i guess it will be perfect at 1440 (except for those who are very nearsighted, they will probably be able to spot tiny imperfections even at 600 ppi)
