The HTC Rep that comes into our store suggested that in the UK, the update may be being rolled out in batches of IMEI nums, so if you have the silver or black (original) HTC One's you will likely get the update before newer variants (such as Blue, Red, Gold.
Also Carriers in UK also need time to work the rom with their softwares, so GSM variants from P4u and CPW usually get updates quicker than network variants.

With 4.4.2 the battery life is shorter, and kinda camera quality is lowered...the focus i quite longer than before.

My phone was locked to Three and is now unlocked. I have the phone rooted as well.

Usually Middle east user get the updates with in 3 weeks from UE users

Nvidia and it's Tegra soc sucks, but tegra 3 has all the needed support already available for 4.4 -> Nexus 7 2012 is living proof of it. And it's using the oldest and weakest version of tegra 3.
