Anyway, maybe you know something i don't, but one thing is for sure. If you want privacy, donlt use smartphones (even normal phones) and install and protect linux on your pc. That's about the close you can get to have real privacy and not be spam'ed every two seconds. Also, kill yoi facebook account and use crypted mails. I think you start to understand what i'm talking about, i think. So, your aosp? Hm, don't think so;).

Carol, 03 Feb 2014I like your enthusiasm. And your nativity to. By the way, i... moreI know what AOSP is. It is to android what chromium is to chrome. I use none of Google services, I've complete control of what data goes in and what goes out via an closed module and I'm soon to start using cryptography for my data. I think it's you who needs to do more research on the platform, I am the one who is brewing kernels for it.

And yes symbian is potentially better but with a far more meager support in many ways it is more limited than modified aosp. To equate -though- what I have which indeed is pure Linux with android libraries to full on android is blasphemy...

Anyway I'm not here to support any of the companies, it just so happens to be that Google generally let's you modify the kernel so much that you can make your phone unrecognizable, the other two will only deem your private data very much recognisable. My initial argument is that MS is an evil spawn and I stand by it...

By the way, i'm using Symbian, way better then what you brag about there. Anyway your aosp is in fact Android Open Source Project and if you think you are using pure linux, then please do it further. Just give me your number and i will tell you what you've ate last night. Pure linux, my aDollarDollar.

You seem to lack comprehension... I praised android for letting you put your own Os, I didn't praise it for the Os itself, it is why I deleted android, now nobody snoops in my phone. They only snoop in yours...

Anonymous, 03 Feb 2014Yeah I'm deceived for running a phone with my own kernel on... moreGoogle makes its profits by collecting data from its users. Why do you think they closed Google reader ? They could not harvest data from us and out was useless to their strategy. You live on a throne of lies But that does not mean Google doesn't have great services. I myself am an avid Google services fan but I hate the useless war my android is better than your iPhone because you are an idiot. It is totally illogical. Both Google and Apple are companies that changed the future of tech and the world and nobody can deny it. As for security nothing is all around snooping proof. I just am worried on what hands or how many people will my personal stuff go through and that s normal but I'm not doing anything wrong to get overly upset on surveillance even though I dislike it

Android with Google services, WP, iOS users are all being watched closely. A simple query and they find who you are who you dated what your mother likes, what you said last. You are all watched equally, snowden said so.

I am out of the loop because I installed a custom kernel that I made on m own so the government can't watch me...

WP will continue rising above the game. I really love the Nokia Lumia 1520 and I bet that Nokia will continue its progress in regaining its crown from Samsung and Apple. Nokia and Sony used to be on top of the game until Android OS came to the scene where Samsung reigned. Now Sony and Nokia have the best designs and cameras out there found in a smartphone. Sony really shows good figures for the Xperia Z1 and 1520 is very promising! WP is the future! :)

AnonD-229954, 03 Feb 2014android world is all about deception. its owned by Google. ... moreYeah I'm deceived for running a phone with my own kernel on with none, *not one* of Google's services installed. I must be deceived feeling 1 million times safer in my AOSP build than in any of the completely controlled closed source environments , like wp, iOS, skinned android.

I don't mean to say that Google doesn't collect of course she does, and so does Apple and so does Microsoft. But at least she gives you a chance to *own* your device by installing an os of your own liking (basically what installing a kernel is) and basically stop the survailance.

How can any of you people feel safe with your unencrypted data flowing in completely controlled environments (Closed source oses)? I would had been driven mad by the knowledge that everybody can know anything about me especially after the things snowden said and he was quite clear, running a "closed garden of eden" deal (closed source os)? You are *being* watched, good luck with that !:p

Android had its run. It's flagship models are good, but bulk of market share comes from low end phones, which is the segment Nokia is now attacking (quite successfully).

Yes, the Lumia 520 is the best-seller...amongst no-contract cell phones. However, when a list has a certain Samsung Galaxy Centura as the third best-seller, you know just how good that list is.
