They need to have a proper "international" store that will ship via DHL/Fedex/UPS/Post to anywhere in the world like Oppo or Faea do and limit quantities per customer to one or two with wholesale being handled separately.
I would grab one and encourage everyone I knew to get one if they set that up

For those who intend to purchase through xiaomi official site, the queue will definitely take you months before reaching you turn. Majority will get from other online retailer or shop which sold at higher price, like I gotten my China Unicom Hongmi at 1k yuan without any trouble at all.
I gave the phone to my dad to replace his old school nokia and he find it much easier to use and navigate with the simplified mode aka old man mode compare to his old school nokia phone

CyanogenMod :D thank you for being there every time we wanted pure android. The specs of these phones look great for its price compared to Moto G it's a lot better
1.6GHz quad vs 1.2GHz quad
130$-180$/200$
4.7"vs4.2" screen cuz the On Screen buttons take a lot of space
8MP vs 5MP
Same GPU Same ram.
But Xiaomi 1S has an edge cuz of its speed price camera and a 15% bigger screen in almost same form factor.
