camera-wise, it's only megapixel count. quality-wise, the differences are too little to make an issue, and Moto G, by the way, does not have a bad camera.

    http://www.gsmarena.com/motorola_moto_g-review-1021p8.php

it says "Great Camera", and if you look at their photo test comparison, no pink spots at middle, meaning Moto G has a very good camera, and it's still Jelly Bean. Kitkat has a faster camera.

anyway you slice it, Moto G is still king for bang-for-buck, having all essentials for that cheap of a price

AnonD-84826, 26 Feb 2014An excellent smartphone! Truly recommended to all Android users!I couldn't agree more. I can't believe I paid as little as I did for this awesome device. Yeah, there are better devices specs wise, but not at this price point. On top of everything else, I had TWO software updates since I got it about a month ago.

This time we 100% agreed with GSMarena.

No doubt that MotoX/motoG is the most optimized google phone ever made with limited hardware.

My galaS3(exynos) is slower tnan this $200 phone.

But you leave out two MAIN deciding factors:
                  camera quality and microSD slot!
Of course each phone has it's own qualities and I'm in no way saying that the Moto G is bad.
If I would have cash I would buy it in an instant, but it's good to inform other people that there are also other good options out there (like Xperia SP) in more or less same price range.

I can admit that it's a decent phone having recommended it for purchase for several friends of mine. But it is far from the BEST smartphone to date.

This is a well deserved success. As a Moto G owner and someone who has owned multiple mobiles for years I can reinforce the view that this device is unbeatable in its price category and on par with many mid range and flagship devices. If you are toying with Android try this before any other. The timely updates are another plus for this unit.

People should notbdare yo compare moto g with upcoming nokia xl, l, x+ ie so-called android series.Nokia is only testing it.They have taken a chance to meddle android with windows, coming out with an altered android version and trying to put it through its paces. Is it justified?
Lol, people who havent used a smartphone before or are not aware of smartphones will definitely embrace nokia's so called x series bkoz they are getting a big screen and 5mp camera, at the most.

                                    1. Worse display tech (TFT is sooo 2011 as we all know)
                                    2. Outdated Android version, update not guaranteed
                                    3. (out of your own words) worse battery endurance rating
                                    4. less cores, worse multitasking
                                    5. less pixel count

so it still depends on how you use the phone. Xperia SP for gamers, Moto G for surfers, but way less money. Who wins? you guess.
