In Europe its Samsung that the bigger. So the US is clearly biased towards home turf products. Which is why Apple vs Samsung court battles can never get an unbiased outcome if held on Apple turf.

I guess the major problem with Windows OS is lacking of popular apps that available in both iOS and Android.
Many apps developers are reluctant to write for Windows because they need to start from scratch and the no of users for Windows phone is relative too small!
Microsoft should pay money to developers to write apps for them instead of paying the device makers!

You dont know the real situation, right. Dont judge anyone when u dont know the real story,sorry. Nokia and its mobile platform have its good performance in the market around the world. So i didnt see any death ok.
But I dont care, as soon as im using my WP i dont care the opinion of others, i respect it

iOS brought in a whole new generation of smartphones. It is like steam engine vs coal driven trains. Both were trains, but the technology differed. Symbian and WM were old OSes and so they died. But WP did not die despite coming late, despite many others like Bada, Maemo, MeeGo, WebOS dying and BB10 failing to take off. So WP came out to be a winner.
MeeGo was utter garbage and did not sell at all. Nokia had no presence in the US before Lumia came around. Read the report, it says US. Nokia astound sold so poorly that US carriers did not want to touch Nokia again until they started making WP. Even today Sprint carries WPs but not Nokia WPs. MeeGo is an utter disgrace no matter how many lies it's fanboys continue to spread.

So after so many years only 3,5% ? Windows Mobile get once even 12.0% of Smartphones in World and RIM and MS have around 40% market share in USA.

How Microsoft and Nokia can be so blind, WM had even 40% in USA, 11-12% World-Wide, Symbian in 2007 had 63.5% of Smartphones, how they could lose it so fast.
So Nokia choose worst mobile OS at the time (2009-2011) which was Windows Phone and paid for it own life. Stupid management + Elop = death. They should try Android (which grew very rapidly) and MeeGo+/Asha, WP only if Microsoft give licenses for free. Android will managed to get market share, MeeGo/+Asha own good projects for which they didnt pay for the license. If Elop dont destraoy MeeGo Nokia could get these 3-4% with this OS, this result is a shame for such a large corporation especially because they devour Nokia. MeeGo was really fast, Symbian Anne/Belle was much more functional then Windows Phone is even today, iOS, Android and WP have some deficiencies relative to Symbian.
