Android based HTCs of late have been superb quality and packed with some great features. The last thing people I serve ask is about the build, so a plastic phone at a cheaper cost may be incredibly beneficial.

That said, I had a HTC One X for a while, and ended up going back to Sony handsets, mainly because I felt a little disconnected with the HTC, think they need to find something on the phone that makes people really fall in love with the brand, such as Samsung, Sony and Apple have done.

AnonD-119834, 15 Apr 2014my iphone 4's, with aluminum frame on it, signal still work... moreYou dont know if it would be better if there was no metal. I have to admit that my old Desire Z with all its metal had considerably weaker signal than my Xperia and Nokias, but on the other hand the worst signal i ever had in a phone was with ugly plastic brick Galaxy Note 2 (weak GSM signal, 3G was ok). Actually the weak GSM signal of Galaxy S3 and Note 2 was a known weakness that was inherent to the Exynos chipset they used but still they were plastic and the plastic didnt seem to help them much.

techguy, 15 Apr 2014- Have you ever heard of the Faraday cage ? All aluminiu... moreThe cage doesnt block electromagnetic waves. If it did we would all be safe from nuclear war, a few metal bars would magically take those gamma rays (which are nothing more than high frequency electromagnetic waves) and lead them into the ground. Now do you see where your theory breaks down?

Tried to put a magnet on aluminum? It doesnt stick. On plastic? Same. Aluminum doesnt interact much more with magnetism/electromagnetism than plastic does.

                      - Have you ever heard of the Faraday cage ?

All aluminium frame lovers should keep in mind that a metal frame is bound to deteriorate RF perception, i.e. the signal strength, quality and stability of your phone's wireless connections be it GSM, UMTS, LTE, GPS/Glonass, Wifi, Bluetooth or NFC.

Basically you have to make up your mind if you want a gadget that looks cool, or a phone that works...

You are the only one in the world who would get a plastic ring instead of aluminum, no need to ask if you have a girlfriend, if you had she already left. Just last night i gave an aluminum ring to one of my female friends, quite good looking ring and she said she will never ever take it off. If it was plastic she would probably slap my face and not talk to me again.

I think this is a smart move by HTC. Those that want a "premium" build will pay for it and those who prefer a "plastic" build will get that. It will be interesting though to see how they differentiate them visually.

                              Another great idea for HTC.

HTC please allow individual customization (like Dell Computer) for the One (M8)that you can choose:

                              1) Size of display (5" or 5.25")
                              2) RAM (2 GB, 3GB, 4GB)
                              3) Internal memory (16GB, 32GB, 64GB, 128GB)
                              4) Plastic or metal body
                              5) Camera (4MP Ultra, 21MP Normal)
                              6) Color/Texture

Clinton, 14 Apr 2014If it's not 4 mega pixels but 4 ultra pixels, please explai... moreI guess HTC did not do a great job to promote and explain to people about the 4MP Ultra pixel camera!!!!!

HTC should not just always emphasize on its metal uni-body but they need to tell the world why do they use 4MP Ultra pixel camera and its wider angle lens!

Compare the image when shooting at low light against iPhone 5S(8MP), GS5 (16MP), Xperia Z2 (20.7MP).

Well played, HTC. Offering the same phone in a Galaxy S5 body, but having the good sense to price it accordingly. Sends a strong message. You should pay less for plastic.

Htc Butterfly S was relase after HTC one, but Butterfly had same big price acording HTC one, so i think 50 - 70 dollar if HTC M8 will be cheper i dont want have a plastic, I think Htc can just low price for for all their phones, a lot of people just looking , becouse price for them a to high
