Anonymous, 15 Jul 2014its not a hard condition. Just don't make it for samsung, ... moreThe reality that Samsung has invested big dollars in Sharp. They own 3% share of Sharp now!!!
http://www.whathifi.com/news/sharp-to-supply-igzo-panels-to-samsung-under-recently-announced-alliance

Sharp already makes 32" screens for Samsung and Sharp is now making some other small device screens for Samsung too. Apple is SoL now with Samsung having part of the say so in Sharp over them!!! ;-P Apple and Sharp are now fighting, because Apple thinks they own Sharp and IZGO screens. But.... Sharp is fighting back and telling Apple to take a hike if they can't accept the fact that they have to sell screens to more than just Apple to stay in business if Apple continues to spread screen production to Japan Display, LG and Sharp, they could be out of business if they can't sell screens to Samsung!!! Sorry Apple.... being a Big Bully doesn't work anymore with SHARP!!!

its not a hard condition. Just don't make it for samsung, who are good enough to make quality screens for themselves anyways. Apple is also a bigger client then Samsung anyways.

Anonymous, 15 Jul 2014Stop denying that IGZO is Sharp's innovation. Samsung also ... morehttps://www.semiconportal.com/en/archive/news/main-news/120314-igzo-application-jst-samsung.html

"IGZO TFT developed in 2004 by Professor Hosono (Source: JST)"

"Back in 1995, Hideo Hosono, professor of Tokyo Institute of Technology, championed new transparent semiconductor materials and named them transparent amorphous oxide semiconductors (TAOS), which have high electron mobility comparable to that of crystal. But TAOS attracted little attention at that time.

JST selected Hosono as the project leader of JST's Exploratory Research for Advanced Technology (ERATO) project in 1999. Each of the ERATO projects is led by an innovative researcher that JST selects and the project leader can focus the R&D team on his preferred theme.

JST provided 300 million yen (US$3.8 million*) per year for Hosono's five-year ERATO project. Hosono studied candidate materials for TAOS, and in 2004 developed a TFT with IGZO, one of the TAOS materials, fabricated on a plastic film at room temperature. Its electron mobility is one-digit higher than that of amorphous silicon TFT."

Well, I guess you can continue to deny reality then, put that head back in the sand if you wish. ;)

Competition is required and is good, it benefits all -Consumers and companies too!

Trying to Block its Main Competitor in this Manner Shows it's true picture, Apple is really Pathetic!!

Apple seems to be desperate enough that they'll give the equipment ownership to Sharp for free, if they agree not to make screen for Samsung...lol.

Since Apple is incapable of affecting Samsung in any major way its useless to use such undignified deals. They are only sullying Apple's image which Steve Jobs and others have made. The only way to beat Samsung is by making good phones and not with tricks.
