Two thousand apologies: if I can just indulge you in my chat for a few seconds. I have visited Nokia's website and I am worried. It is clear they do not want to give the customer detailed information. You look under technical specifications subheading "memory" and not one iota of information on RAM. You look for processor speed; yet again on info. You look for the type of chipset used in the GPS and guess what?...no info. I wonder what Nokia are playing at?? Why are they so secretive?? My advice for any future N9x series is: use a Sirf Star III chipset for the GPS. Design a slideout QWERTY coupled with a VGA 3.0 inch screen; 128MB RAM and fast processor.

A thousand apologies; sorry to flog this point but Nokia do not have one single VGA resolution phone in its entire range!! The E90 comes close but it is still sub-VGA. If Nokia want to be far ahead of the competition that is the way to go. A 16M colour VGA screen is unbeatable for a 2.8 to 4.2 inch screen. I was hoping that this new Nokia would come with VGA res but it looks like Nokia are not willing. Mind you the phone has not been released yet. They can still make modifications. They really should include expandable memory. It simplifies transferring files from phone to phone or to a computer's memory card reader.

It could have been the best phone ever. Lack of optical zoom and lens-cover are the biggest backdraws. In my humble opinion Nokia is doing a great Job but a little bit to fast. Sony Ericsson is doing better bringing high-end phones with almost perfect usability. No doubt the N95-8GB is on the top but what do the N95 owners say about that? I do not like Nokia´s way of thinking They bring phones to the market and try to solve the problems releasing a similar model. Please create a new powerful battery for the "old" N95. To all gsmarena-readers: Have a nice day!

Well everything is great but the no memory card space kills it. I have the N95 and i love it. Ill make sure to get this one too.

From what I can see this phone definitely has more high grade features than SE W960. Yet again Nokia have outsmarted SE!! This phone has the SAME dimensions as the original N95 with only a slight increase in weight. As "xAck" said the increase in screen size while keeping the same width as the original is quite a feat! But...I always look for the best in a phone and some issues concern me. A sophisticated device like this should have a QWERTY. Nokia are too secretive about processor speed and RAM. The spec on this site does not tell us. VGA res on large screens is the future- check Eten X800. Note it appears as if Nokia stuck the E61i screen on this device.

all the phone company in the world should learn how to make phone like NOKIA even a good engineering SONY. look at the N95 8gb, Nokia did a good job by putting a monster 2.8 LCD screen into a narrow 53 mm width. Other company need aleast 58 mm or even 60mm width to have a 2.8 screen. excellence job NOKIA. NO wonder you are the #1 phone maker in the world.

                    Hey...
N95 is the best, but I wish it has the touch screen and be more faster in handling multiple application.and a long life battery too.
                    have fun.

there's always going to be something better. but i think i would be contented to have this one. i have an N91 8gb. it doesn't have any flash, TV out and a camera in-front. i have tons of mp4s and i'd definitely wanted to have it in full screen. not to mention a longer battery life! =)

                          way 2 cool nokia.
only problem is still battery, eventhough it
increased to 1200, but the screen is 2.8 now,
                          so it drain more power.

is this N95 8GB soppose to be a Music Phone ?

certainly doesnt have the aesthectics of a Music Phone ?

                              i mean would a MP3 Player have a 2.8 inch Display ?????? NO

would a Mp3 Player have Symbian - NO

its all Pointless ...its not even a Music Phone ..its just a load of things all in 1 with no meanings whatsoever

                              Nokia have no idea

I have been wanting to buy the SE W960i, Nokia E90 or the N95 for a while now. I have an SE P990i. I love my SE but even with firmware updates, my phone still hangs, apps are slow and battery life is bad. Maybe I am just getting tired of my phone.

Now with the new N95 8GB version soon to be released, I wonder if Nokia will be releasing an E90 8GB version, with a 5MP camera, next. That would be a great phone... We just have to wait and see. if thats not in the future, then I just have to wait and see which phone turns out to be better, the N95 8Gb or the SE W960i.... choices choices.

I don't want to spoil the party but if you take a look to the top right hand corner of the screen and peruse the list of phones there is not one of them that has a QWERTY. Furthermore in the last six months Nokia have made only two phones with a QWERTY (E61i and E90). Are they telling us no "E" then no QWERTY. Do Nokia not know that some people text heavily. T9 is inadequate but yet again Nokia produce another high spec phone without a full keyboard. Quite ridiculous! Another point is that a 2.8 inch screen of today should have VGA resolution. Third point is why didn't GsmArena give the processor speed and RAM value??
