Opera Apps Club is is an "all you can eat" app store for Android

Peter, 10 February, 2016

Opera, once known mostly for its browser, has been diversifying its activities. Its latest venture is Opera Apps Club, a Netflix-like, all you can eat subscription service.

Basically, you sign up for the Club and can download any app from the 150 global and local publishers and developers. Payment is done through the carrier, so no need for credit cards (great in emerging markets where plastic money is rare).

Ads are removed from ad-supported apps and you get credit for in-app purchases. 34 carriers are supported currently and Opera can customize the experience for each carrier.

The app is based on Bemobi (which Opera acquired in 2015) and promises to reach 500 million customers, giving publishers and developers a new way to monetize their content.

One key piece of info is missing though - how much is it?

Google cannot stop this. opera isn't using the Playstore. They have their own store like Amazon app store.
