Samsung Galaxy S5 review: Fab Five

08 April 2014
Every time the Samsung Galaxy S counter flips a digit, the world is getting ready to be amazed. The lineup that stood up to the iPhone and has been pulling Android to the very top of the food chain, is under new leadership effective last month...

SO the ISOCELL tech doesn't live up to the earlier claims. It is more or less similar to Note 3 and some cases a little worse and in some cases better. Low light hasn't improved without flash on. A mixed bag at best.

But for everything else the phone is well rounded and still a solid buy. But I don't think I will be buying this one.

Anonymous, 08 Apr 2014How does the g2 have better battery life? G2 has a 3000mAh battery that sometimes lasts for 2 days. It also has a display GRAM feature that helps conserving energy. That's why its battery life is better.

Sorry samsung, z2 is very irresistible. And i can't wait for note4 since my friend is willing to buy my note3.

But who knows? If note4 comes with a great bang, i might turn to samsung again :)

I thought black note3's back cover was plasticky like the white one. But when i touched it, it feels really good. Like leather, unlike the plasticky white one.

              So who knows..

Most if which is not factual and biased.
As well as then said most that will have a problem with your same as the haters words and non factual things are just extreme fanboys.

What's even worse is going along with your words being the same as the hate train show you did not even read the review at all or very thoroughly at least. And probably no relevant articles within the past week.
Just made some assumptions and went on a rant.

I can't believe gsmarena isn't complaining about the SGS5 awful and boring design. Despite its specs, performance and technolgy, this phone doesn't look like what a premium phone should be.

All choices are good and you need to think what you value most on a phone and then deside. There is not a clear better choice.
On a personal note I think you will regret going to iOS iPhone 5 after using a 2013 flagship android.

When you are in your room or casually listening song in your home, its speaker quality matters. Its super rich in terms of quality, depth, bass, and everything. Though M7 has many short-comings, but it is a bug plus. However, it may not be a decisive factor for many persons.

And its speakers are not very much louder than others. Its at par with many current phones, but its sound quality and output is best.

Galaxy or HTC or Z1 Compact or iPhone 5S

I am currently using HTC One M7. Sometime I think to upgrade when I watch new reviews or a launch. What my phone, M7 lack?
Its camera is worst among all. Its battery life is poor. Its screen, though is sharpest, but not better then that of iphone or galaxy amoled.
It looks and feels just fantastic in hand. Speakers are best in business and music listening is a treat.

So when I think to upgrade, I will keep M7 for home. Now iphone is out as I have already given time and money in Android and built working around it. Iphone is best in handling and OS optimization, but very expensive. You need to buy new updated phone because they keep on improving, not like others. I cannot buy two flagship phone in one year :)

New HTC One M8 is also not in race, as its bigger, with again a bad camera. Whats use of a big beautiful metal phone, when you need to use plastic back cover to save it from scratches. My old M7 will not let me miss M8

So finally left with S5 and Z1 Compact. Its big screen vs compact size. Fix vs removable battery. I am tilting towards S5 as it need not be replaced very soon. Its UI is not as smooth as others but it has more positives then negatives. If I buy a new battery, my back up will be of almost two days. Its camera and screen are among the best. It lacks handling and UI of iphone, but I am sticking with Android.

                                suggest...

After reading this review I realise that the flagship is not that bad. It has a camera which equals nokia's 1520, a better and more good looking touchwiz which defeats htc's launcher, a premium feel quality and superb audio output. Frankly speaking, who needs 2 loudspeakers on a mobile? I'm not gonna walk on streets playing music to everybody. Is like walking on the 90's with a huge old cassette player just to catch attention. I want to see this beauty in real life and if all what was written here is true, I definitely buy one at the end. ..

Excellent phone! This phone is seriously underrated on this website and throughout the entire world! On another note, will all the features of the S5 such as New TouchWiz, RealTimeHDR, Selective Focus and Ultra Power Saving Mode make it to the Note 3 in a future software update?
