GSMArena.com turns 15: A video trip down memory lane

15 June 2015
Remember the times when the most exciting feature of your new phone was the number of pre-installed ringtones? Or the times when we measured storage by the number of entries the phonebook would take?

How I love that executive feel! The panache! The caliber! Nowadays, all phones are the same: a lightweight, flat mirror. Back in those days, phones would literally respond to your each and every action. Slide the Nokia N95 and it'll "click" in place perfectly. Slide up the Nokia 8800 and it'll come to rest in utmost effortlessness. Releasing the Nokia 8910 from it's safe meant turning heads and catching stares all around you. Even with the Nokia N-Gage, business always meant play. These were the days where work was work and play was play. No hybrids! And, we loved it! And, now, there are only kinds of phones remaining in the world: Touchscreen Phones and Luxury Phones. For me, legacy phones will always remain dynamic, exquisite and game-changers. Even when I use my Samsung S4 Zoom, it reminds me that there are still a handful of devices out there that have what it takes to change the game plan.

Even though not all are accurate cause, well, the 7650 was the first Nokia smartphone with an inbuild camera, yeah, but was also the first phone in the world with an inbuild camera. You say nothing about GSM network which is made by Nokia and Siemens partnership (here should start the whole thing) First gsm call ever made was also by Nokia/Siemens. First siemens smartphone is missing. First sony smartphone is not quite good explained, and where is blackberry? But well, at list it tells this kids today that iphone is not even close to be the first touch screen phone or the first smartphone;). In fact when it came out it wasn't a smartphone quite at all. Being unable to accomplish the moast basics of a smartphone: Multitask and program installation.

happy b'day GSMArena, an old friend to me. the first site i go every time in plan to change my mobile or simply curious about a newcomer.
I'm still searching that "feeling of amaze and thrill" when I first flip the Nokia E90 back in 2008. Today's smartphones just don't live up to it.

Happy belated birthday gsmarena. I remembered the first cellphones website I googled was gsmarena.com in 2000 or better known that time as Y2K. Everyone around the globe were curious about what would happened to our life in the event Y2K bugs hit us. My first phone was Nokia 3210. Now am using Iphone 6 plus.. Best wishes gsmarena from Malaysia.
