The Optimus is a pioneer much like the Moto Xoom. I think a better fight will be between the overclocked SGS2 vs the O3D. One is overclocked and the other a dual-channel. One have the best Amoled screen while the other the first 3D screen on a mobile phone. Now that will be a more exciting fight.

Those of you complaining how it not objective... the SGSII clearly did better than the Optimus 2X on the parts they mentioned like the screen, web browsing, and the video recording... maybe you guys skipped all the videos or something.

Only thing that's not mentioned is the pricing but how can they compare when pricing for SGSII isn't released yet?

Here in Norway they seem to differ very little. 4200 NOK on the SGSII versus 3900 NOK on the LGO2X. That's 36 euroes and 56 dollars... It's nothing.

With the galaxy s2 being much more expensive the improvements it has is understandably, the Lg however holds itself up commendably and will continue to sell well! I'll be going for the galaxy s2 myself once its out in a few weeks

Been a while since I've seen LG in one of these "VS." articles... guess its been a while since LG had a top contender. Long live LG...! I think the Galaxy S II is the best if you got the money but for a lower price, the Optimus 2X is just as valuable.

well at the end they DID say that the LG was a fine phone.

I wonder what it will cost? Here in the US the G2x will cost $500 off contract with tmobile I expect the Samsung to at least be $600 off contract when it arrives on our shores. I think one thing that is being neglected is that the 2x STILL is using 2.2 once it gets the 2.3 update this thing will fly.

xtrader07, 09 Apr 2011It is really annoying to read these comparisons when GSM ar... moreMan you said it!! It's so obvious their favoring samsung! It's making me sick of their nonobjective comparisons.

For god sakes, they never did mention that the LG is much cheaper than samsung! Also, samsung used to be the first in everything but I never so GSMarena complain about it, but now since LG has this great achievement , it's the one that is rushing?? What about samsung rushing in producing crap all the past years.

I didn't like the comparison, I was hoping to see some goodies for the LG, but the website made it as if LG was nothing against samsung which is totally untrue!

Just to say, Samsung intentionally caps the highest and lowest brightness , and it is easily confirmed by the fact that Voodoo color can override those caps. I don't know why they made that choice, but I can assume that they have capped maximum brightness due to battery. (I really don't know whay they even capped minimum one.) Therefore, the real performance of Super AMOLED Plus display is not shown by Galaxy S II, in my opinion, although it is still much better than others and is the best screen ever in mobile market.

It is really annoying to read these comparisons when GSM arena is clearly favoring Samsung.

about the tegra zone offering epic games that only support tegra2 devices
is it true that it only works on tegra powered phones ? can you test this in the preview ?

You fail at benchmarking the gpu with an Open Gl ES 1.0 benchmark on GPU's capable of rendering Open GL ES 2.0, u should have used GLbenchmark 2.0 to truly compare both gpu's rendering capability's, neocore was design for msm72x1a GPU nothing else.
