              AnonD-252, 14 May 2011Have you even tried/used Galaxy S2? Nokia N8 have only 360... more!!!

Did you really say that!? Xperia arc is the sexiest android smartphone out there at the moment. All the reviewers out there crowned it the sexiest!

Anyway, well done samsung. About this phone being the best, i disagree. It is amazing all rounder phone, but for example nokia n8 = king of snaps.

I am now considering this over htc sensation and the for ever waiting xperia duo. Hope it won't be as laggy as sgs after 3 months use.

Firstly, I am no fanboy but review after review seem to be heaping praise on the S2....

I for one am still so tempted to purchase this phone even after my dreadful i8910 experience....

This phone will do for the next 18 to 24 months of my new contract when I upgrade.

I for one am going to reserve judgement for awhile longer....read the forums and more unbiased user experience..

The only handset I can see coming close to this is the Sensation....but again reviews and user opinon will tell the whole story....

TO those who say the review is biased, you really are living on a cloud.....practically every tech site and mobile phone review that has managed to review the handset hae heaped praise on it....are they really all in Samsungs pocket and taking bungs????....I think not.

Like I said, I'm no Samsung fanboy...like I said with the i8910 their support was atrocious beyond belief.

But there is no denying that by simply looking at the spec and technology packed in this phone, it is beyond anything currently in the market and from the sounds of the feedback really does offer a leap over other handsets.....Next year will be the true test for the likes of S2,Atrix and x2...Sony have yet to show their and the second generation dual core phones will be available....Remember, nothing is future proof...but there is proof that the future is here....

Choose wisely and don't get drawn in by the marketing, arguments about which is the better manufacturer blah, blah, blah....and don;t be foolish enough to show brand loyalty....not until a manufacturer releases a phone with no issue or bugs and only updates to further improve an already great handset.....

All in all a god review and one I did not think was biased....gsmarena certainly did not gush like some of the tech sites out there.....

Now hurry up and review the HTC Sensation so that I decide which phone to get.....:)

                Happy Eurovision Everyone :)

I'm glad gsmarena doesn't recommend the iphone 4 as other sites do, still comparing old tech with the SGS II which is in another league. Sorry to say but iphone 4 is mid range now.

AnonD-5666, 14 May 2011Many people are complaining about 60fps. First off, this it... moreThat's completely baseless and lame excuse dude......
Even if human eyes can't distinguish more fps, having it is very beneficial.
More fps makes game play much more smoother, responsive and helps in eliminating artifacts.

the phone has a 60 hertz screen refresh rate, just like every other phone.

showing more than 60fps is a complete waste of time. why cant some of you understand that?!

I would like clarification on the below statement by GSMArena please:

"Little about the Gallery should surprise you – aside from displaying full-res images and the addition of the two-finger tilt zoom, there’s nothing new really. And don’t you worry, the double tap and pinch zoom are still there." (FROM PAGE 7)

Since when did the Stock Gallery app stop displaying Low Res images?

Are you saying that the gallery app now displays the full res pics??

Forgot to add: hopefully the SGS II will indeed be future proof for EVERYONE! Global OTA updates and please get rid of KIES!

Regarding the Samsung OS updates: the updates for the original SGS were horrific for some European countries, not one announced date was respected, Belgian users had to wait 3 months (THREE!) before they could enjoy the update that was available for the rest of Europe. The updates through KIES where also painfull: update was pushed only to be pulled again because of "some issues". And when the first update finally came trough, some apps stopped working (Samsung's Facebook app for example). Overall, the "Samsung Android experience" left a bad taste in my mouth.

The review is in tone with other major websites reviews- they all say it`s the ultimate smartphone right now and it`s future proof.
Like always Gsm arena made the most in depth review and covered all the datails.
Now i only hope that the Galaxy S2 will come to Romania with this exact specifications in the reviewed phone ( Super AMOLED plus, exynos procesor) because the Nexus S is currently available at Vodafone with a S LCD screen.
Right now the Galaxy SII is the king of the hill in the smartphone world, and it`s being confirmed by all major websites.
                                  Can`t wait to buy one.

[deleted post]I think GSM Arena's hype comes from being able to hold the best phone in the market which is actually quite far ahead from the second best. When benchmarks, smoothness of the UI, and the raw power is compared, no other phone in the market comes close to SGSII. I think the hype is justified.

I don't think GSM Arena is "outshining" this one over other phones. Simply, there isn't a phone that is... better than this one overall. They are truly amazed at its capability and I would be too. 1.5 GHz is probably not that useful daily, but it is pretty freaking amazing breaking the 4k benchmark scores. They even said it themselves though that they don't see it being useful to ordinary users.

O3D's 3D augmented reality browser, in my opinion, is purely eye candy. Please explain how much better the 3D browser would be than a regular 2D browser in terms of usability and productivity.

I don't get a sense that the phone is perfect reading their review. Their review only confirms my opinion that SGSII is the most powerful, have-most-feature "ultimate" phone out in the market right now. No one said it's perfect.

Don't think of me as a biased person either. I'm totally ready to jump the wagon soon as another company makes the "best phone in the market".

Would have been nice if the review commented on typing on the Galaxy S2. Typing on the Nexus S is not all that great compared to the Iphone 4. Was wondering how typing is on this new galaxy S2 compared to the Nexus S..
