Samsung Infuse 4G review: Extra legroom

20 May 2011
In America, it is widely believed that bigger is better. Or so Samsung must have thought when they decided to launch the phone with the biggest and brightest screen first in the United States, and with the biggest network – AT&T...

Worst phone I ever had. Minimum of twice a day it would freeze and required the battery to be removed to restart it. I couldn’t even make a month with the phone before I went back to iPhone.

After owning the Galaxy S2, I got the Infuse 4g. I TOTALLY agree with the review that the 2mm difference in screen size makes for a significantly better web browsing and media viewing experience. The Infuse is ahead if it's time in pushing the screen size envelope as proven by the 2.8 inch Galaxy S3! The mistake was to give the Infuse less substantial hardware than the GS2. If the Infuse had the same dual core processor and additional RAM, it would probably have been a bigger hit than the GS2! As it is, the Infuse remains a very capable phone handicapped by a slight lack of vision on Samsung's part. It is truly the form factor Galaxy S2 should have had.

rtkomar, 21 May 2011Again no audio quality test..!! :(there is no audio test from gsmarena. but i have done my research on the audio chip it is using its one of the best in the market same is used in galaxy s1 while s2 uses the yamaha DAC(which is inferior) the infuse and s1 use the Wolfson's WM8994 DAC as its audio hub. just combine this with voodoo app available i can assure you will get the best audiophile experience than any other phone in the market(and yes it includes iphone also)

But at the end it's a matter of taste so it shouldn't be a con. If people want thick cam phones there are plenty like the N8 and I won't say its thickness is a disadvantage cause other people would think is an asset for taking photos so it's OK. Besides for a very slim phones you can always buy a case that adds thickness and a better grab to it.

eh... what, 27 May 2011I hate that "oh no, all plastic" is like a mantra... moreBesides technically plastic is a more recent technology than glass and aluminium.

I wonder though that this review praises the 4.5 inch screen size, but did not extol the Dell Streak's 5 inch screen. :-P

I hate that "oh no, all plastic" is like a mantra and automaticly gets put under negative. The other day I carried my own Samsung galaxy S in my right pocket and my friends iPhone 4 in my left.

And all day, all i could think of was how nice, soft and smooth my SGS (no don't go there... I'm talking about my phone... :-P) felt over the hard, cold and sharp edges of the iPhone 4. It really felt uncomfortable and I was reminded of it all the time. I tried switching pockets thinking that I it might feel different but it didn't help.
I like the all plastic bodies, Plastic feels soft and smooth and it doesn't scratch or crack or dent the same way glass or alu. does.

XG, 23 May 2011They're right. Thin IS uncomfortable, and I'd say for more ... moreMost of the time it is in my pocket. If you look it that way things are very different. Besides that it doesn't have a dedicated shutter-button which makes a difference too.
