HTC DROID DNA preview: First look

13 November 2012
HTC is having a hard time competing at the highest level of the smartphone market lately, but its latest smartphone might be what was needed to turn the tables. The all-caps name of the HTC DROID DNA is, for once, well deserved as this is certainly one of the most exciting smartphones we have seen lately...

by looking at the benchmarks scores youcan tell LG just plain and simple sucks at optimizing any type of hardware, they failed with the optimus 2x, failed with the optimus g now cause its the same hardware as htc dna, and it gets lower scores.
Hopefully google did the optimising theyr selves on the nexus 4, therwhise it'll be a shame not to have that s4 pro properly used.

HTC you should have released the DROID DNA+ instead. With bigger battery and bigger memory. Why release it after 3 months? You are so f*cking predictable.

                                  2,020 mAh battery on a 5" 1080p screen? That's a huge disappointment.

each brand have their own lacks.

                                    samsung with their plastic body.
apple with their over priced, compared to specs.
                                    lg with their software support.
motorolla with their old-competition as others using new faster processor, so is sony.
but now htc just starts to use on-build storage which is very clumsy just 11GB for HD phones.

but all of them have their own superiority. so it's up to your choice, you will never have a phone if you too much comparing.

Don... morefair point, in other departments I would say there is things that could definitely be improved, for example the loudspeaker as quoted could be better however the reason I chose my phone was purely for the music experience whilst listening through the headset. when I got my sensation xl I was given the headphones as part of the parcel as you would of done also with you sensation xe. I do admit that through any standard sub/standard headphones the quality is non existent which kinda annoys me on why HTC no longer provide them with the new line up of phones they have introduced... by the time I get my next HTC which will probably be mid next year I can safely say that my headphones will have deteriorated in quality massively and its looking as though I will have to go out and spend £100+ on some more, that of which I am not happy with at all...

Don't get me wrong. I loved HTC at first. But their products doesn't really justify their specs. Maybe you're right. Beats enhancement does make a difference. But it's only good for someone that has good earphones/headphones. Besides, their loudspeaker is not really that loud. I can tell you my BB Curve 8250 does produce louder sounds than my XE and the music quality is pretty good. So even at the audio department, they fell short.

The camera sucks, a lot. The device eventually heats up; it has a poor reception of signal; and poor outdoor visibility. Maybe I'm going too far on this especially when my basis is just one device. But, upon reading reviews and comments from consumers like me, I can say that my statements are correct. What's pissing me off is that they market so much about their products only to find out that the end result is above average, at best.
