HTC DROID DNA preview: First look

13 November 2012
HTC is having a hard time competing at the highest level of the smartphone market lately, but its latest smartphone might be what was needed to turn the tables. The all-caps name of the HTC DROID DNA is, for once, well deserved as this is certainly one of the most exciting smartphones we have seen lately...

Ok, here is the thing, I am big big fan of HTC, and I think they are best looking, quality assembled phones ever. I currently own Htc Desire HD, for two years now, and I'm looking for replacement. For Dhd I can speak only good, period. This is my thought: Samsung Note 2: Better battery, similar performance, have more than 16gb memory, nicely looking phone and best of all, it has stylus and much much more functionality than DNA: 16gb of memory (wtf) Battery is funny. Screen is better, but what for, when I can't see difference between 720p and 1080p on the phone. Wireless charging, it is not turning point for me. It is a looker, but, there is nothing that can convince me to buy Htc Dna over Galaxy Note 2.

If the human eye can not distinguish over 300ppi, why waste all the power of the GPU for something we can not see?

Impressive specs but it doesn't push usability further, since the battery is weak limit, for me at least. I think still Samsung got something right with putting a 3100 mAh on the Note II with comparable sceensize.

Denzo, 13 Nov 2012Pretty beasty!I wouldn't mind seeing a thicker phone with a bigger battery ... I doubt that the 2020mAh battery will be enough for a daily usage ... Besides, Motorola has a 3000+ mAh battery in a similar form factor. Wonder why this doesn't have the same thing

The phone looks amazing, but, seriously, a 2020 mAh battery, that is positively pathetic! The Samsung Galaxy Note 2 is pretty much the same spec as this but with a little bigger display and a lot less pixels to run and that got 3100 mAh! The phone looks great HTC but you better have some pretty amazing battery life saving tech in this device or this is a no go for me and I'm sure for a lot of other people as well!

First... HTC fails when it comes to battery.
