Samsung I9500 Galaxy S4 vs Samsung I9505 Galaxy S4: Double or nothing

27 May 2013
The Android smartphone market in 2013 is as over-crowded as ever. But when it comes to the very high-end, luckily for everybody, there are not that many options. Every manufacturer has a single flagship and that's it. Or is it? Last time we checked...

It needs more work to be optimized for mobile devices because the big.LITTLE technology has much more to offer than switching between clusters. It can combine cores from the two clusters, for example two A7s with one A15 etc. Also it could be able to use all cores simultaneously. Unfortunately Samsung did not include a CCI module in the chip so the processor could be capable of that (this is a hardware issue) and there aren't kernels available yet to support such algorithms. So my main point is that is only normal that up to this date the S600 I more power efficient unless the Octa is on the A7s all the time and the S600 is not slouch compared to the Octa. :)

Other than that they can work only on one frequency. You obviously haven't read the article that I have posted in the previous comment.

After reading all the comments and possibly all the reviews available for both processors I can tell you simply this: the S600 processor is more optimized for mobile devices hence it's the better one. Other than that the Octa chip suffers from major crippling due to exclusion of proper CCI which is a major part of the big.LITTLE technology. For more info please read http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2191850 article. So for the people who want to experience real big.LITTLE technology you should probably wait for the Note III. Bit as of now the Octa chip is limited only to cluster migration (hence the not so good battery performance) and this is silicon problem that CANNOT be fixed by software update. I hope that I've been helpful.

I9500 - uses WOLFSON dac audio chip for superb audio quality.
I9505 - uses qualcomm dac audio chip.

I would advise if you are a music lover, then go for the octa version. On the other hand, if your concern is the internet speed, then go for the quad version. :)

Its the SHV-E300K variant with extra batery+charging dock inside the box. Of course it packs 32GB internal memory ^_^

It doesnt feel like 1.2GHz + 1.6 GHz though. The rumors that it was overclocked to 2.3GHz seems to be true but I dont mind the clockspeed cause its a whole new level from SGS3..

Sure look at the Iphone 5, but only to realize it's only a couple milo seconds faster. And only so by being system wide restricted.

If you have taken a final decision to go with Android, then Samsung Galaxy S4 is the most advanced choice available in the market. However, it would still be sensible to compare it against the king of all hearts - Apple iPhone5. I came across this Face-off happening between the two at this new website:

What I have heard, that corean version is soo much better. Not that only you get and extra battery and battery charger, but it is a octa core, lte capable device. In other words, fastest lte posible, with octa core power capabilities and 2 batteries, what make talk, web and video timing x2... Huh, would it take a geneus to tell what I would choose?
