Samsung I9500 Galaxy S4 vs Samsung I9505 Galaxy S4: Double or nothing

27 May 2013
The Android smartphone market in 2013 is as over-crowded as ever. But when it comes to the very high-end, luckily for everybody, there are not that many options. Every manufacturer has a single flagship and that's it. Or is it? Last time we checked...

just shows that the quad core is not much slower than the octocore. so all those cores, are not better in long run. and the camera is the same on both models, bit pointless that test.

In Brazil it is possible to buy both versions, i9500 is sold as 3G Only and i9505 as 4G/3G, i9505 is a little bit (4.8%) more expensive.

At the end of the day though to me as having seen these results, I9505 WIN by virtues of :- LTE-enabled by default auto better value for money, similar if not on par excellent performance and near guaranteed ongoing dev support for being equipped w/ a more open SoC than Exynos (you should know what I'm talking about).

"It's manufacturing issues that Samsung is blaming for the low production numbers of its home-brewed Exynos 5 Octa chipset. This is the reason behind the shift of the Snapdragon 600 into being the more widely available offering."

Moving on forward I sincerely hope that Samsung can rectify the Exynos situation fast OR not seed out "limited" Exynos models out 1st before putting out a variant (a better one at that) later on because this is exactly the rollout tactic they're doing internationally. In a way that's a surefire backlash waiting to happen because early adopters who're not tech savvy will get burned once they're informed later on. That's not good for business surely.

I was seriously worried about both the models...after much research I ended up with the i9505 snapdragon quad core...with my little knowledge in this field...i came to this conclusion because i9500 is clocked at 1.6GHz whereas i9505 at 1.9GHz...so practically i will be getting the 1.9GHz support in every task I do...whereas on the other variant the phone decides when to switch between the cores...as a regular user i might not even install such huge apps or games that may require all the cores to fire up...so for i think having 1.9GHz support in everything i do is good...sorry for my bad english...SAMSUNG MOBILE BANGLADESH.

great review! So basically its slightly better performance vs slightly better battery life.

The i9500 has some serious battery issue here in India. Also the octa cores is really gimicky and only adds to the cost. Hope the s600 version is available soon
