5 July 2013
The Samsung Galaxy Tab family was introduced back in 2011, to at least get a foot in the door swung open by the rising Apple iPad. The Tabs came in a variety of sizes and connectivity options with...

Some are ”pathetic”, but these have cheap prices. There are high-end tablets from them and one of them I think is the best Android tablet and one of the best Windows 8 tablets: Samsung ATIV Q! Made with magnesium alloy, with an Intel Core I5 Haswell processor, 4 GB of RAM and the biggest resolution on a tablet: 3200 x 1800!!! Here: http://www.androidauthority.com/samsung-ativ-q-scores-54861-antutu-benchmark-234204/ ! And it also have a full keyboard beneath it! And yes, Nexus 10 is also the work of Google but most of the tablet is Samsung's idea. Its design proves it! So, OUCH with your comment!

These are the reasons that iPad presents in huge segment of tablet market.

Samsung might give up high end tablets.

All Samsung tablet is pathetic on spec. (Ignore that not stable Google Nexus 10 which not 100% Samsung)

No point getting Samsung tablet where others did gorgeous spec, include Sony, Toshiba & Asus.

OMG what the hell is Samsung doing ? 1 GB of RAM is horribly outdated !! I am pretty sure this Samsung tab is going to remain on shelves , especially with Google Nexus 10 available nearly at the same price and much better hardware.

1gb ram night do the trick but imo ita a dealbreaker. It's summer '13 and people will be buying this for awhile. 2gb is already must have feature for high end products.

Gosh the Clover trail processor is pathetic!!

Seems to me Intel sells these specific chips at discount price, so Samsung just put some into their existing hardware, stamped another designation in it, and threw it on the market

0,9 gb of ram does sound a bit low for a tablet but when you complain it's used up to 700 mb when no apps are open, you should know a bit more about ram.

Android, being a Linux based OS, uses Linux philosophy with ram. It says that ram is of the most help when it is used as much as possible because empty ram has no help for the system. Now, the OS itself takes up maybe 300 or 400 mb of ram, and the rest is mostly cache that helps the OS work faster. By clearing the ram you only remove that cache and it will soon fill up again. And when some app needs some ram, cache frees up space for it and is no harm and doesn't slow the device down.

So you should not complain about the small amount of free ram and not clear the ram all the time.

I found this out when I was worried about my N9 taking up 700-800 mb of ram with no apps open.

They are focusing on making affordable tabs but I think that samsung could have made this one a little better, without raising the price much.

Seems like they take a step backward with every iteration of the Galaxy Tab series.

I'm not a tablet fan and this screen resolution doesn't make this tablet any more tempting.

Wtf is Samsung thinking with this range of Galaxy Tabs? Rather get a Sony, Toshiba or Asus in 10" and an Asus/Nexus in 7" with real performance for your money than this junk.

What about 3d games? GTA, Dead Space, Carmageddon etc - do they work?

Looking towards of Asus Memo Pad FHD 10, which has same SoC, but twice more RAM and much better WUXGA screen. Yet it doesn't have LTE and NFC, which still quite important to me. Both have same poor ~6700-6900 mAh battery. I wonder why Samsung and Google so desperately wants to avoid tablet market? Why not to make a good tablet product finally?

Still, if this x86 platform is not capable of Android 3D gaming at all, then it's not a buying contender.
