Sony Ericsson K610 review: Sure 3G choice

05 July 2006
Sony Ericsson K610 is a new addition to the K-series but with a twist - it is one of the smallest mobile handsets available with 3G support and video calls. But if that is not enough, the mobile packs in a 2 megapixel camera and a Memory Stick Micro (M2) card slot. The classic shape and design would most probably appeal to the male audience, and one thing's for sure - you could always find place for this little fellow in your shirt's pocket.

I picked the K610i over the K800i because of Size. The K800i is a tad too large for my likings. I don't miss the 3.2MB Camera.

It's good to see Sony have done their studies and removed the Infra-red and Radio, because most Laptops these days have Bluetooth (it's faster too) and with Radio you need to connect the Headset which I never have with me, since I use Bluetooth Earpiece. Hate Headset wires which is required for Radio to work.

Good Job SE! Nice mobile. Got the red one woohoo :)

no it doesn't have IrDA, but it has bluetooth which works out well with most of laptops. And no, it doesn't run on Symbian OS. Only thing I'll miss is the FM radio, that will be in the 810i, but it'll come with the price. Perhaps 10-15 grams could be sliced from weight and perhaps bit larger screen but oh well ..

One complaint rant though concerning all phone manufacturers - when on earth they start making phones where you can fit regular 3,5mm stereo jack plug? All music phones and such, their el-cheapo earpieces simply !"#¤ and are first thing to replace. And if I pay 300-400€ of phone, I'd expect better DA -converter than in chinese 50RMB mp3 -player ...

In your review summary and spec list, you said that this phone does not have infrared port, yet in your review (Plug and Unplugged), you mentioned that this phone has infrared.

              I'm confused.

How is it.. that in every single review, the pictures taken by the respective phone's camera is always the same.. it's the same theme park, the same rides and stuff, same crayons or watever, the same angles, the same distance...? i'm amazed :D
