Samsung Galaxy Alpha approved by the FCC

07 August, 2014

The Samsung Galaxy Alpha got the stamp of approval from the FCC. It's the G850F version intended for Europe, the US will get three carrier-specific versions.

The Galaxy Alpha measures 133 x 67mm according to FCC's measurements. For comparison a Galaxy S5 Mini (4.5" screen) is 131.1 x 64.8mm while the full-size Galaxy S5 is 142 x 72.5mm (5.1" screen). Check out these spy shots to see how the Alpha stacks up against the iPhone 5s (123.8 x 58.6mm).

The FCC also tested the radios of the Samsung Galaxy Alpha but there are no surprises here – it will sport LTE, dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0 and NFC. Rumors fill in the blanks – a 4.7" 720p Super AMOLED screen, 12MP camera and an Exynos chipset.

August 13, the alleged launch date of the Galaxy Alpha, is fast approaching and it seems the new premium line is all ready to go now that it has been certified.
