Samsung Galaxy Core 2 and Pocket 2 dual-SIMs leak [UPDATE]

16 June, 2014

Obviously not satisfied with the number of already available "Galaxy Pocket " and "Galaxy Core " versions, Samsung is working on sequels for both of these devices. Both showed up at Mainguyen, a Vietnamese web shop.

Samsung G355H Galaxy Core 2 Duos

The Samsung Galaxy Core 2 Duos will be an affordable dual-SIM phone with a 4.5" WVGA screen (207ppi). It has a quad-core processor (Cortex-A7) and runs Android 4.4.2 KitKat, but memory is limited – 768MB RAM and 4GB storage, plus a microSD card slot.

The phone has 21Mbps 3G and Wi-Fi b/g/n, plus Bluetooth 4.0. Both SIM cards have quad-band 2G, while the 3G is just dual-band. It doesn’t become clear from the specs, but presumably only one card will have 3G connectivity.

The camera department of the Galaxy Core 2 Duos boasts a 5MP main shooter with LED flash and a VGA selfie camera. The phone measures 130.2 x 67.9 x 9.8mm, weighs 138g and houses a 2,000mAh battery.

Update, June 17: The site has been updated with prices, the Galaxy Core 2 Duos will cost VND 3,990,000 or $190 / €140.

Samsung G110H Galaxy Pocket 2

This one is a dual-SIM phone too, but it's an entry level smartphone par excellence. The Samsung Galaxy Pocket 2 has a 3.2" QVGA screen and while it runs a fresh Android 4.4.2 KitKat, it does so on a single-core 1GHz processor with 512MB RAM.

It has the same connectivity as the Galaxy Core 2 Duos though, meaning quad-band 2G for both cards and dual-band 21Mbps 3G for at least one card.

Samsung Galaxy Pocket 2

The two cameras on board are only 2MP/VGA snappers and the battery is a tiny 1,200mAh unit. The Galaxy Pocket 2 lives up to its name with its dimensions of 109.7 x 60.6 x 11.7mm and 110g of weight.

Update, June 17: The Galaxy Pocket 2 will cost VND 1,800,000 or $85 / €63.

Both phones are listed as Coming Soon and we find no evidence that either is official. There's no price for either of them too. The last time the Galaxy Core 2 leaked back in late April and the scuttlebutt was that it will launch in Russia on May 20 at RUR9,990 (€200 / $280). At least half of that info proved false.

Thanks to Nguyen for sending this in!

Unfortunately I agree, and not only that, that pro-Apple site agrees with you too. Their main lament is that while the facts are there, the other mainstream media are ignoring it and choosing to highlight what Samsung's PR is saying instead. Whe...
