Samsung Galaxy J1 Pop may in fact land as the J1 Ace

02 July, 2015

Samsung has been rumored to be working on a slightly enhanced version of the Galaxy J1, its first J-series device which was made official at the beginning of this year.

So far we've heard that this new model would be called Galaxy J1 Pop, and bear the model number SM-J110 (the Galaxy J1 is the SM-J100). Even judging solely based on its name and model number, you can see that this won't be a great departure from the original - perhaps we'll see an upgraded spec or two, and a newer version of Android on board (since the J1 ships with KitKat).

Now though it turns out that the J1 Pop may actually end up being sold as the Galaxy J1 Ace. "Ace" is a name Samsung has used a lot in the past, and it seems pretty fond of it.

A Dutch online retailer already has a listing up for the Galaxy J1 Ace (SM-J110F), but sadly with absolutely no specs attached. The €114.95 price attached to it, though, is slightly more than what the original Galaxy J1 goes for in the Netherlands, so once again we get a hint about certain improvements to come in the newer iteration.

According to that same retailer, the Galaxy J1 Ace will launch in the Netherlands on July 30. If that's true, then we will probably find out more about it very soon through leaks and rumors.

Haha & Samsung said we'll reduce the number of handset launches in 2015. He must be kidding.
