Jitsu, 10 Oct 2013Glass was curved, not the screen. That's a BIG difference. This time the Samsung used a Super Flexible AMOLED unit with Full HD resolution. "Undoubtedly, the biggest highlight of the Samsung Galaxy Round is its curved display. The latter is a 5.7 Super Flexible AMOLED unit with Full HD resolution (1920 x 1080 pixels). You may remember that back in the day the Samsung-made Nexus S also had a slight curve going on, but in that case it was just the screen glass that was curved, and not the panel itself."

We can expect more cracked screen due to the curvy design.

Doesn't look like it'll appeal to the mass. But don't hate. I think they're doing this to master the flexible OLEDs. They need to start somewhere. If you have seen their concepts back in early 2013, flexible OLEDs have the potential to revolutionize the ergonomic design of smartphones/tablets/tv etc. With the increasing size of smartphones nowadays, it would be great if Samsung can make a flexible "flip" smartphone so it can easily fit in the pocket. Imagine folding the huge 5.7" Note 3 in half so it fits easily in the pocket.

it is a good things on what samsung tried to do with all their weird(or some called unique) smartphone out there. at least they (included other manufacturer) will got a realtime feedbacks for those tech in public. afterall, no company dare to try all that but keep copying each other. yes, samsung do copying stuff, but just like everyone did. just my 2 cents -excuse my bad english- p/s: i'm no samsung fan and i never own any of samsung phone.

They should come out with curvy watch phone, rather than mobile phone... Useless...
