Android 4.4.2 KitKat heading to Samsung Galaxy S4 zoom

16 July, 2014

Back in 2013, when Samsung first tried its hand at merging a smartphone with a point-and-shoot camera, the Galaxy S4 zoom was outed with Android 4.2.2 Jelly bean on board. Now, the robust smartphone/shooter is receiving the latest Android 4.4.2 KitKat build, as Samsung has begun rolling out the update.

The updated version will bring all the usual features introduced by Samsung in their latest build, including performance optimizations, new status bar, wireless printing support, and an array of visual tweaks and improvements.

Samsung's most recent iteration of the S4 zoom, the Galaxy K zoom, hit retailers just last month sporting the same Android 4.4.2 build, and featured a wide range of improvements to the camera app. Whether we'll see the same updated features remains to be seen.

If you own an S4 zoom and installed the new KitKat update, give us your impressions in the comments!
