Sony Xperia Z1s passes through the FCC

12 December, 2013

The elusive Sony Xperia Z1s (aka Z1 mini) passed through Postel, the Indonesian wireless authority, and has now reached US shores too. The FCC docs show a diagram of the device and give away its footprint – 129 x 64.9mm.

The software version is listed as 14.2.A.0.144, which should be Android 4.3 Jelly Bean (14.2.A.0.290 for the Z Ultra was the 4.3 update).

The Xperia Z1s is a smaller version of the Z1 flagship with a 4.3" 720p screen that keeps the Snapdragon 800 chipset, 20.7MP camera and water-resistant design.

The latest rumors say it will launch in Q1 next year at a $590 / €440 price point. We've had plenty of launch date rumors that didn’t pan out though, so believe this at your own risk.

The Japanese version of the phone, the Xperia Z1f is already official and available.

Thanks for the tip, Ben Ling!

TFT drains quickly battery, which it is a flaw. Also to have a balance on this,Sony has to raise the prise up.
