TENAA certifies Samsung Galaxy Mega 2, confirms its specs

12 August, 2014

The Samsung Galaxy Mega 2 passed through the FCC and now it has gone trough the Chinese counterpart, TENAA. Unlike the FCC, TENAA publishes a more comprehensive report on the devices specifications.

The phone guns after the Sony Xperia T2 with a 6" LCD screen with 720p resolution (245ppi). The Mega 2 was measured at 163.6 x 84.9 x 8.6mm and weighed at 194g. Compare that to a 165.2 x 83.8 x 7.7mm and 171g for the Xperia T2 Ultra.

Anyway, the mid-range tablet is powered by a quad-core processor at 1.2GHz and a generous 2GB of RAM. Unfortunately, TENAA's specifications don't confirm if this is the 64-bit Snapdragon 410 or a regular Snapdragon 400. The phablet runs Android 4.4 KitKat.

The Galaxy Mega 6 features a 13MP main camera and a 5MP selfie camera, a combo that is growing in popularity lately. The main camera can record 1080p video. The phone will come with 8GB of built-in storage, expandable by microSD cards up to 64GB.

On the connectivity side there's GSM and CDMA along with 4G LTE, the Chinese flavors specifically though for the worldwide version will presumably come with the western flavors.
