Tizen-powered Samsung Z2 goes on sale in India

Himanshu, 30 August, 2016

The Samsung Z2, which was made official last week, is now available for purchase in India. Digital wallet and e-retailer Paytm, which is Samsung's exclusive online partner for the device, has begun selling the handset.

Those purchasing the handset will also get complimentary access to unlimited 4G voice and data for 90 days by Reliance Jio - the offer is, however, only valid for a limited time. The phone carries a price tag of INR 4,590 (around $70).

To refresh, the Samsung Z2 is the company's third Tizen-powered smartphone after the Z1 and Z3. Some of its key specs include Spreadtrum chipset with quad-core processor, 3.97-inch display, 1GB/8GB memory config, 5MP/VGA camera combo, and 1,500mAh battery.

Tizen OS is good but the Apps are a big let down. Most of the apps are just bookmarks and wrappers. I see it staying that way for long. Not enough happening for developers to jump ship.
